Training on Rescue Operation & Disaster Management


Jammu, April 27: A six days training programme on Rescue operation & Disaster management for motivated police personnel of police district border and Jammu was inaugurated by Sh.R.V.Raju ADGP PHQ J&K at District Police Line Border today on 27th April 2006. This training course is especially designed for police personnel of J&K to get trained and skills in mitigating any disaster effectively.

Sh.R.V.Raju in his opening remarks expressed his happiness in inaugurating the training programme. He said that similar training courses in other districts will help us to prepare a core group of police personnel for facing disaster bravely and effectively. He was also of the opinion that all police personnel between the age of 18 -40 years must undergo such trainings and some of them should also be sent for further training. He further said that Hon’ble Chief Minister J&K Sh.Gh.Nabi Azad was assured that a core group of police personnel will be formed in each district.

Earlier Sh.Navin Agarwal IGP Civil Defence J&K formally welcomed the chief guest, other dignitaries and participants and stated that this training program is a the first programme of series of such programme in all district of J&K. In case of any disaster public expectation from police personnel, being the visible part of the Govt. Machinery, as first responder are high. He said that this training module will focus on rescue operation, first aid, fire fighting, self protection etc which will help you in your job as well as home. During recent natural calamities like earthquake in J&K, there was no force to deal with disaster effectively.

Sh.Parminder Singh Sr.Supdt. of Police Border thanked Sh. Navin Agarwal IGP Homeguards/Civil Defence/Auxiliary Police J&K for starting the training programme from his district and felt confident that trainees will take full benefit from the experienced trainers and will prove asset for the department.

A Civil Defence demonstration was given by the staff and trainees of Central Training Institute of Homeguards/Civil Defence/Auxiliary Police Jammu. The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Sh.Mohd Majid Malik Dy.SP Pricipal CTI Jammu.

Prominent among those present were Sh.Gulzar Singh Slathia DIG HG/CD & Aux.Police Jammu, Sh.T.Phunsog commandant Aux.2nd Bn. Jammu, Sh.S.M.Khatotra SSP Divisional Commandant Homeguards Jammu, Sh.Sarwar Chouhan SSP S.O. to IGP HG/CD & Aux.Police J&K Jammu, Sh.Rajeshwar SP HQ Border, Ms.Nisha Nathyal SP DAR Border, Sh.Paramjit Kumar Dy.Chief warden Civil Defence Jammu,Sh.T.R.Rana Dy.SP, Sh.P.D.Sharma Dy.SP, Smt.Manjeet Kour Dy.Controller Jammu, Sh.K.K.Sharma Dy.SP, Sh.Mohd Taj Dy.SP besides the police personnel of border, and staff of CTI.
