Valedictory function of six days Training Programme for Police Personnel
Jammu, May 03: The valedictory function of six days training programme for police personnel drawn from police districts Border & Jammu was held today on 3rd May 2006 at DPL Border. S. Parminder Singh Sr. Supdt. of Police Border was the chief guest on the occasion. He expressed his happiness upon the skills acquired by Police personnel and said that this will help to minimize damages to life and property during disaster. He also stated that number of people die in road accidents in his districts due to non-availability of first aid and improper shifting of injured to the hospital, such trainings are the need of the hour. He was also thankful to Sh.Navin Agarwal IGP Civil Defence J&K and Sh.Gulzar Singh Slathia DIG Civil Defence Jammu for starting training programme for Police personnel from his district.
Sh. S.M. Khatotra Div. Comdt. Homeguards Jammu stated that similar training programmes will be organized in different districts for training police personnel. He said that police personnel being first responders will be able to meet any eventuality effectively. On this occasion trainees gave a demonstration on rescue operation which was appreciated by every body present there. Sh. Parmjit Kumar Dy. Chief warden Jammu (south) gave live commentary of the demonstration.
The training was organized by Sh. Mohd Majid Malik Dy.SP Principal Central Training Institute Jammu. He said that during the training focus was given on rescue operation, fire fighting, first aid, watermanship courses and they were taught how to make use of local available resources for disaster Management. During the training night classes were also conducted to familiarizes trainees with rescue operation during night hours.
Prominent among those present were Sh. Rajeshwar SP Border, Smt Nisha Nathyal SP DAR Bordar, Sh.R.K.Bhat SP, Sh.Vinod Mahhotra Dy.Chief warden Civil Defence Jammu (North), Sh.T.R.Rana Dy.SP, Sh.P.D.Sharma Dy.SP, Sh.K.K.Sharma Dy.SP besides police personnels of Border and staff & trainees of CTI Jammu.
