Civil Defence Organises an Awareness Camp at Dansal
Jammu, June 14th: A Two Days Civil Defence Awareness Camp was organised in Rural area Dansal, at “Mother Teresa Social Development Centre” w.e.f. May 11, 2007 to May 12, 2007 by Regional Civil Defence Control Centre Jammu. The main aim of the awareness camp was to introduce role and scope of Civil Defence to rural masses. A large number of villagers including males and females attended the awareness camp. Those participated in the camp were imparted basic Civil Defence trainings. They were taught and made to practice the very basics of Rescue, First Aid and Fire-fighting. It was specially focused on “First Aid to a Seriously Injured Patient Before His Hospitalization”.
Ms. Manjit Kour KPS, Dy.Controller Civil Defence delivered on the topic “ Role & Scope of Civil Defence in Rural Areas.
On the occasion S. Surinder Singh Retd. SSP who is one of the senior functionaries of the Social Development Centre said that Civil Defence organization is one of the best semi Social / Govt. organizations in J&K which has had always came forward during natural calamities and past unpreferred wars to rescue the sufferers of the calamity/Wars.
Sister Jyothis John N.S, of Mother Teresa Social Development Centre Dansal Jammu welcomed the guests and showed her gratitude to the civil defence organization which made the awareness camp, a more practical based workshop. She insisted that the training aspect of civil defence should also be extended to villages as the people who have less exposure should be given this important training.
