Passing Out Parade at CTI HG/CD Jammu
Jammu, June 19th: A 25 days refresher course for the voluntary Homeguards concluded on May 17,2007 at Central Training Institute of Homeguards/Civil Defence Jammu. Sh.Mukesh Singh, SSP Jammu was the chief guest at the valedictory function. He distributed cash reward and class-III certificates to the trainees.
Addressing the trainees, SSP Jammu said that trained voluntary Homeguards can serve well in police stations, provide intelligence inputs and assist SHOs in routine work. As they are also trained in basic civil defence and disaster management, they can prove to be a good work force at the time of any eventuality.
Earlier, Sh.S.M.Khatotra, Divisional Commandant Homeguards Jammu gave a brief about the activities of Central Training Institute. Ms.Manjit Kour, Principal CTI HG/CD Jammu also spoke on the occasion and said that these Homeguards voluntary are not trained in discipline and drill but also given weapon training and various other aspects of civil defence.
Among others Dy.SP P.D.Sharma, Dy.SP T.R.Rana and Dy.SP K.K.Sharma also attended the function.
