IGP Homeguards/ Civil Defence Inaugurated Basic Training Programme at Central Training Institute Jammu

 

 

Jammu, August 22nd: Sh. Navin Agarwal, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Home Guards / Civil Defence & Auxiliary Police J&K inaugurated a Basic Civil Defence training course to be imparted to 97 Civil Defence Volunteers at Central Training Institute Home Guards / Civil Defence in the premises of Aux.Police Battalion Hqrs. Glulshan Ground Jammu on 21-08-2007. Earlier these 97 eligible Young Civilians hailing from Roop Nagar Sharika Vihar and Channi Himat Jammu were enrolled as Civil Defence Volunteers in Civil Defence Town Jammu. These 97 CD Volunteers shall have to undergo Basic Civil Defence Training course at CTI, HG/CD Jammu w.e.f. 17-8-2007 to 25-08-2007.

On the occasion Sh. Navin Agarwal , IPS said that this Basic CD Training is very essential for creation of confidence and satisfaction among the youth of our society. During this training period these youth will be imparted trainings in Rescue works , Fire fighting & First Aid, besides, other CD skills will also be made known to them. Shri Navin Agarwal, IPS also distributed Certificates along with training allowances among the 18 Civil Defence Wardens who have already successfully passed the First Aid Training course conducted w.e.f. 25-6-2007 to 29-6-2007 at CTI HG/CD Jammu.

During the function Shri Navin Agarwal, IPS also issued Picture Identity Cards in favour of 48 Civil Defence Wardens who have been enrolled in the Civil Defence organisation and whose Character and antecedents verifications were got cleared from the Local Police authorities.
Smt. Manjit Kour, KPS, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu who is also the organizer of this Training course stressed that more and more eligible Civilians must be motivated to join Civil Defence organization voluntarily in order to serve the general public in the hour of any eventuality.

Among other present on the occasion was Sh.Kamal Saini, DIG HG/CD & Aux. Police, Sh. T. Phonsog, IPS, Commandant Aux.Police IInd Bn. Jammu, Sh. S.M. Khatotra, SSP, Divisional Commandant Home Guards Jammu, Sh.Jugal Mahajan, chief warden Civil Defence Jammu, Mohd Taj Area Commander Homeguards, , besides a large number of Sr. Civil Defence Wardens of Jammu province were also present on the occasion.
