Civil Defence Organisation to be Reorganized/Reactivated at Kathua

 

Jammu, August 24th: Shri Navin Agarwal, IPS, Inspector General of Police Home Guards / Civil Defence & Auxiliary Police J & K inaugurated a Plantation drive launched by Civil Defence organisation by planting a sapling in the premises of Civil Defence/ Aux.Police detachment at Kathua on 23-08-2007. Secondly Shri Navin Agarwal, IPS also inaugurated one day’s Civil Defence Awareness campaign at ETT Rainbow College Kathua. On the occasions Sh. Navin Agarwal ,IPS said that Civil Defence in the J&K State will be reorganized and reactivated on the modern and sophisticated lines especially in Civil Defence Town Kathua, and as per the need of hour keeping in view the Management for any unwanted disaster/ eventuality. He also said that planting of more and more trees is the noble work.

On this occasion Mrs. Sarita Chouhan, IAS , Dy. Commissioner Cum- -Controller Civil Defence Kathua said that the aim of the Civil Defence is to boost the morale of youth especially the Civil Defence Wardens and Volunteers. Sh. Dhain Chand , Chief Warden Civil Defence Kathua expressed his thanks for the kind visit of Shri Navin Agarwal, IGP HG/CD & AXP J&K and other senior most officers to Civil Defence Town Kathua which will definitely boost the morale of Warden service of CD Kathua.

On the occasion Sh. J.P. Singh, IPS, Sr. Supdt. Of Police District Kathua assured that all possible material as well as administrative assistance will be provided to Civil Defence organisation at Kathua and in return the services of Civil Defence warden service will be utilized by the local Police during eventualities etc.

A Civil Defence Demonstration and Cultural programmes were also exhibited by the Civil Defence expert instructors and Civil Defence wardens and volunteers.

Mrs. Manjit Kour, KPS, Dy. Controller Regional Civil Defence Control Centre Jammu who was the organizer of above two functions held at Kathua represented her vote of thanks and she hoped that Civil Defence Kathua will keep ready its warden service to help the general public in any natural or man made eventually or disaster.

A large number of local respectables & Sr. Civil as well as Police officers including 1. Shri J. P. Singh, IPS, Sr. Supdt. Of Police District Kathua , 2.Prof. G. M. Wani, Principal Degree College Kathua,3. Shri Sudarshan Kapoor, Assistant Commissioner Kathua,4.Master Pavashi , Dy,SP, DAR Kathua 5. Shri Kapil Dev Sharma Divisional Warden CD Kathua were also present on the occasion.
