Civil Defence Udhampur organises awareness camp on Disaster Management at NHPC Jyotipuram in district Reasi
Udhampur (J&K), February, 12th: To sensitise the functionaries of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) regarding the potential dangers of hydel potentialities specially on mountainous region which are prone to natural disaster, the Civil Defence Organisation emphasized upon the tactics and mechanization to be adhered for minimising the losses during a one day awareness camp on Disaster Management and
Earth Quakes in the premises of NHPC, Jyotipuram in district Reasi.
The camp was organised by the Civil Defence Organisation, Udhampur under the guidance of IGP Home Guard, Civil Defence and SDRF, Yoginder Kaul. Deputy Controller, Civil Defence. Dy SP Bodh Raj, General Manager, NHPC, Chander Mohan, Chief Engineer NHPC, Rajeev Jerth, officers and staff members of the corporation were present on the occasion.
Deputy Controller, Civil Defence. Dy SP Bodh Raj in his welcome address gave a detailed account of the working of his organisation. He said main motive to organize an awareness camp in the corporation was to make the functionaries aware to deal with any situation in case of disaster.
While appreciating the functioning of Civil Defence Organisation, the General Manager NHPC urged the
Civil Defence Organisation to hold such valuable awareness camps in near future also. Master Trainer Kuldeep Singh and Vikas Sharma delivered lectures on the topics and step for their prevention taken before, during and after the disaster. Deputy Chief Warden, Advocate Swantantar Dev Kotwal also delivered lecture on various facets of Civil Defence and also conducted the proceedings of the programme.
