PASSING OUT PARADE AT CENTRAL TRAINING INSTITUTE

New batch of 145 Homeguards volunteers who underwent 35days Basic training course at Central Training Institute of Homeguards and Civil Defence Jammu, passed out successfully on 3rd February 2007. Sh. Navin Agarwal Inspector General of Police Homeguards/Civil Defence & Aux. Police J&K Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. He took salute and later on also distributed certificates and cash rewards among the Homeguards volunteers for their outstanding performance in various disciplines of training: G/M Sikander Kumar No.69/Jammu(First Position), G/M Mohd Akbar No.19/Rajouri (Second Position), G/M Uttam Singh No.108/Doda (Third Position),G/M Sonu Kumar No.135/Kathua (Third Position). Chief guest in his address congratulated the VHGs on passing out and expressed hope that they will contribute towards the betterment of society as a true volunteer & keeping the spirit of “Nishkam Sewa” alive. He also said that their demands are under active consideration of the Government and decision would be hopefully taken shortly. Sh.S.M.Khatotra Divisional Commandant Homeguards highlighted the working of CTI and various courses conducted for Homeguards and civil defence volunteers besides special courses for Aux. Police & J&K Police personnel.

Sh. T. Phunsog, Commandant Auxiliary Police 2nd Bn. Jammu formally welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished guests on the occasion. Sh. Mohd Majid Malik Dy.SP Principal of CTI Jammu presented vote of thanks while Sh. Paramjit Kumar Divisional warden civil defence gave the live commentary of the function. Among others, those present were Sh. Ghualm Sarwar Chouwan S.O to IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K, Sh.Jugal Mahajan Chief warden civil defence Jammu, Smt. Manjit Kour Dy. Controller Civil Defence, Sh.Mohd Taj Area Commander Homeguards, Sh.P.D.Sharma Dy.SP, Sh.T.R.Rana Dy.SP, Sh.K.K.Sharma Dy.SP besides other staff.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE RESCUES ACCIDENT VICTIMS AT NOWSHERA

A matador bearing No.2290/JK02 on way from Sail to Nowshera fell in a deep gorge on 2nd February 2007 in which eighteen persons died and about 19 injured. Sh. Rajinder Kumar Damral Post warden Civil Defence Nowshera with one of his team reached on spot and assisted in rescue operation. Dead bodies and injured persons were shifted to sub district hospital Nowshera. An other team was deputed to hospital where they arranged blood etc. Seriously injured persons were air lifted from Nowshera to Jammu where civil defence Jammu shifted them to GMC Hospital in civil defence ambulances.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE AWARENESS CAMP

A Civil Defence awareness camp held at Shalimar Srinagar in which more than 4000 people hailing from Harwan/Shalimar participated on 10th Feb. 07. Mohd. Afzal IAS, Addl. Commissioner Kashmir and Sh. M. A. Dainposh Commandant Aux. Police 1st Bn. Srinagar jointly inaugurated the event. While speaking on the occasion Sh. Afzal advised people to join civil defence organisation and become Civil Defence volunteers. He also praised civil defence volunteers who worked beyond the expectation during floods/ earthquake in Srinagar. Sh. M. A. Dainposh also spoke on the occasion, he highlighted the role of civil defence volunteers during various disasters. On this occasion besides free medical consultation, free medicines, Blankets and wooden sticks were distributed among the old aged people of the vicinity on behalf of help-age India.

At the close, Mr. Rajan Project manager of Help age India rewarded civil defence volunteers with suitable cash reward.


 

CORPSE DISPOSAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Four days training programme on “Corpse Disposal Service” was organized at Central Training Institute HG/CD Jammu w.e.f. 12th to 15th Feb.2007 in which about 12 civil defence wardens of civil defence Jammu participated. Guest speakers from Army & Municipal Corporation Jammu were also invited to deliver lectures.

As a measure of man management and welfare, a darbar of Aux. Police personnel was held at Aux. Police 2nd Bn. HQ Jammu on 26th February 2007, in which Aux. Police jawans besides all the senior officers, incharge of various sections of the direction office and battalion were also present. Jawans expressed certain grievances related to their promotions, transfer, transportation and service related problems. Sh.Navin Agarwal IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K listened to the problems of jawans and gave on spot instructions for their redressel. He advised them to work with sincerity and devotion to make the J&K Police Department proud.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISES MEDICAL CAMP AT SRINAGAR

 

Sh.A.R.Mir, Addl. Commissioner Kashmir inaugurating Civil Defence awareness and First aid camp at Lawaypora Srinagar

A civil defence awareness and free medical camp held at Lawaypora Srinagar on 23rd Feb.2007 in which Sh. A. R. Mir, Addl. Commissioner Kashmir was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest visited the civil defence camp and was praiseful for the material kept available regarding civil defence activities, earthquakes and floods. On this occasion Sh. A. H. Beigh, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Srinagar apprised the chief guest and the public about various programmes being organized by the civil defence. Sh.Muzam Bakshi Dy.Chief warden and Sh.Rahi Rayaz Dy.Divisional Warden Civil Defence Srinagar were also present among the notable persons.


 

CIVIL DEFENCE RAJOURI ORGANIZES AWARENESS CAMP

Civil Defence organized one day civil defence awareness camp on 27th Feb. 07 at Taleem Higher Secondary School Rajouri. The camp was organized to make aware the staff and students of the school with the importance of civil defence. Civil Defence instructors of Central Training Institute HG/CD Jammu were deputed to the town for demonstration/Lectures of civil defence activities.


 

MEETING OF DEPUTY CONTROLLERS OF CIVIL DEFENCE

A meeting of Deputy Controllers of Civil Defence was convened at Directorate, which was chaired by Shri Navin Agarwal IGP Civil Defence on 27th Feb.2007. IGP reviewed the working of EPABX, EARP system, Hotlines, UG cables, VHF/HF Communication and other connected matters and advised them to make judicious use of resources to improve communication and provide better facilities to the wardens and volunteers.


 

PROMOTIONS IN AUXILIARY POLICE

Sh.Navin Agarwal IPS,IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K ordered promotions (institu) in favour of 59 officials of Aux.Police/ Homeguards & Civil Defence J&K (HC=02, Const.=55, Jr.Driver=02)vide his office order No. 119 of 2007 dt. 28-02-2007. Most of the promoted officials had been stagnating in their previous pay scales for more than nine to ten years.


 

ANNUAL RANGE CLASSIFICATION

Annual Range Classification of HG/CD & Aux. Police conducted at firing butt Nagrota Jammu w.e.f. 21st to 28th February2007 in which Insp.=01, SI=05, ASI=04, others (HC, Sgct, Ct.) =270 Aux. Police personnel of 2nd Bn. Jammu besides senior officers of organisation also participated.


 

NEWS IN BRIEF:

  • • Five days Civil Defence training camp started on 5th Feb.07 at Govt. Girls High School Resham Ghar colony. Dy.Controller Civil Defence Jammu Ms. Manjit Kour inaugurated the training camp in the presence of large number of respectables of the area. Dy. Divisional warden Raj Bakshi, post warden Sanjeev Puri, Dy. Post wardens Kuldeep Sharma and Pawan Kumar Sharma were also present on the occasion
  • • A matador bearing regd. No.JK-02/2427 on way from Doda to Baswaha met with an accident on 26th Feb.2007 in which 21 persons were injured. Sh.Javid Iqbal Azad Chief warden civil defence Doda alongwith other wardens assisted in rescue operation. Injured persons were shifted from spot to District Hospital Doda for treatment.
  • • 30days Advance Training Course at Central Training Institute HG/CD Jammu started w.e.f 11th Feb. 2007 in which 20 VHGs drawn from various district of Jammu province are undergoing training.
