IGP HOMEGUARDS/CIVIL DEFENCE & AUX. POLICE J&K INAUGURATED THE TRADESMEN COMPLEX AT AUX.POLICE 2ND BN. HQ JAMMU

Sh.Dilbag Singh, IPS, IGP HG/CD & Aux.Police J&K inaugurated the Tradesmen Complex at Aux.Police 2nd Bn. HQ Jammu alongwith Sh.P.R.Manhas, IPS, DIG HG/CD & Aux. Police Jammu on 03-03-2009. On this occasion, Sh.Dilbag Singh, IPS, IGP HG/CD & Aux.Police J&K also conducted a Darbar of the Aux. Police personnel and after giving them a patient hearing, gave on spot instructions regarding redressal of their grievances. The worthy IGP briefed the jawans and directed them to discharge their duties with dedication and devotion. Sh.P.R.Manhas,IPS, DIG HG/CD & Aux.Police Jammu, Sh.Tilak, Raj, SSP, S.O to IGP HG/CD & Aux.Police J&K, Sh.Deepak Slathia, SP, Commandant Aux.Police 2nd Bn, Sh.P.D.Sharma, Dy.SP and Sh.Mohd Aslam, Dy.SP were also present on the occasion.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN BUDGAM IMPARTED TRAINING TO ANGANWARI WORKERS AT BUDGAM

Civil Defence town Budgam in collaboration with UNDP organised five days training programme to train Anganwari workers in disaster preparedness. As part of the strategy to empower community on disaster preparedness, mock drill-cum-training programme for Anganwari workers of Social Welfare Department was held at TCDCC Budgam w.e.f. 07-03-2009 to 11-03-2009. As many as 50 Anganwari workers were trained in first-aid, rescue operations and firefighting skills during the programme.

The participants in the programme were trained in specialized skill to face emergency situation during Natural as well as Man-made disasters. Coordinator Disaster Management alongwith Sh.Aamir Ali OSD with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Smt. Nighat Aman, Dy.SP, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence Budgam, Dr.Majid, Chief Warden, Civil Defence Budgam, besides social workers and a large number of people attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh.Ali emphasized that disaster preparedness minimizes adverse affects of the disaster by taking effective precautionary measures. He said the training will be only effective if the trainees know that how to act and protect life and property during disasters. He said that community can be used as powerful institution to mitigate the losses during the disasters by imparting training to the community in skills to fight disasters.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE SRINAGAR ORGANISED FIRST-AID-CUM AWARENESS CAMP AT HAZARTBAL SHRINE

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Milad (SAW) Festival, the RCDCC Srinagar organised first aid- cum-awareness camp at Hazartbal Shrine w.e.f. 09-3-2009 to 14-3-2009, in collaboration with Bharat Scouts & Guides. Besides first aid, fire-fighting, rescue operations techniques were also taught to participants. The IGP Kashmir alongwith other officers visited the camp and apprised the importance and purpose of the Civil Defence organisation. Portable water & soft drinks were also served to devotees during the camp.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN NOWSHERA ORGANISED FIVE DAYS CD TRAINING CAMP AT NOWSHERA

Five days Civil Defence training camp was organised at Govt.Middle School Bawali Nowshera w.e.f. 16-03-2009 to 20-03-2009. Sh.R.K.Bhat, Additional SP Nowshera was the Chief Guest on the inaugural function. While addressing the participants he highlighted the importance of Civil Defence organization. Sh.Rajinder Parshad Damral, Dy.Divisional Warden Civil Defence also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the past activities of Civil Defence. The training was imparted by Civil Defence experts deputed from Central Training Institute of Homeguards/Civil Defence Jammu.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN KATHUA ORGANISED FIVE DAYS CD TRAINING CAMP

Civil Defence organised five days Civil Defence training camp at Narinkari Bhawan, Kathua w.e.f. 24-03-2009 to 28-03-2009. On the occasion, Sh.Ravinder Singh Slathia, I/C Media Kathua was the Chief Guest who highlighted the importance and role of Civil Defence during the Natural/ Man-made disaster to minimize the damage of life and property of people. Sh.Dhian Chand, Chief Warden Civil Defence Kathua also delivered a lecture. During the camp, 48 female CD volunteers participated and trained in Civil Defence first aid, fire-fighting and rescue operations.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN JAMMU ORGANISED FREE MEDICAL CAMP

Civil Defence Jammu organised first aid Medical camp at Bahu-Fort during Navratra Days i.e. (26-3-2009 to 03-04-2009) The aim of this camp was to facilitate the general masses with the free medical aid as well as CD Ambulance. During the camp about 102 pilgrims who got injuries due to the heavy rush of pilgrims were provided first aid.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN SAMBA IMPARTED TRAINING TO INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYEES

Civil Defence Town Samba organised five days Civil Defence Basic training camp at ‘IND-SWIFT LAB. Phase-II, SIDCO’ Samba, w.e.f. 23-03-2009 to 27-03-2009. During the camp, 112 employees of the Industries have undergone the training and were acquainted with various Civil Defence skills and rescue operations.


 

 

FIVE DAYS CD TRAINING CAMP ORGANISED AT E.T.T. COLLEGE KATHUA

Five days Civil Defence Training Camp was organised in the premises of ETT Rainbow College Kathua w.e.f. 23-3-09 to 27-3-09. On the inaugural function, Sh.Ravinder Singh Slathia, I/C Media Kathua was the chief guest. During the camp, 53 College students both male/ female were imparted Civil Defence training in first aid, fire-fighting and rescue operations during disaster.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN SUNDERBANI ORGANISED FIVE DAYS TRAINING CAMP AT B.Ed. COLLEGE SUNDERBANI

Five days Basic Civil Defence training camp was organised by Civil Defence town at SVS B.Ed. College Sunderbani w.e.f. 25-03-2009 to 31-03-2009. On the inaugural day of the training Sh.Chuni Lal Raina, Chairman of the College was the Chief Guest of the function besides Smt.Bimla Pathania, Dy.Divsional Warden, Sh.Navneet Gupta, Dy.Post Warden, Sh.Dev Raj, Sector Warden and Sh.Ravi Naresh, Sector Warden were also present on the occasion. During the training, 99 students of the college were acquainted with various types of Disaster management techniques including first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation. Expert instructors were deputed from Central Training Institute HG/CD Jammu to impart effective training.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN JAMMU IMPARTED CD TRAINING TO SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI SHRINE BOARD’S EMPLOYEES

Trained instructors of Civil Defence were deputed from CTI HG/CD Jammu and imparted

Civil Defence training in Disaster Management to the employees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra at Gurukul Charanpaduka Katra w.e.f. 17-02-2009 to 22-02-2009. During the training, 77 employees of Shrine Board were acquainted with various Civil Defence skills and activities. Sh.Paramjit Kumar, Dy.Chief Warden and Sh.Alok Nanda, Post Warden also delivered lectures on the topic ‘Disaster Management’ during the training camp.


 

 

NEWS IN BRIEF:

  • A valedictory function of five days Civil Defence training camp held at Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Doda on 03-03-2009 in which 76 CD volunteers were imparted Civil Defence Basic Training. Sh.Safrullah Rather, Dy.Chief Warden was the chief guest on the occasion. A large number of students and CD Wardens/ volunteers were present on the occasion. A Civil Defence demonstration was also given by the CD instructors.
  • A view of participants during CD massive awareness programme at CD Town Budgam
    One day Civil Defence massive awareness programme was organised by the CD town Budgam at CD Complex Budgam on 04-03-2009. The function was inaugurated by the Raja Nighat Aman, Dy.SP, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Budgam. Sh.Aamir Ali, OSD with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir delivered lecture regarding the concept of Civil Defence, its aims and objectives. During the programme CD demonstrations especially fire-fighting, rescue and first aid were exhibited before the general masses by the team of Civil Defence instructors.
  • A meeting of Civil Defence wardens of CD Town Udhampur was held under the chairman ship of Dy.Commissioner cum Controller Civil
  • Defence Udhampur in the conference hall of Dy.Commissioner office Udhampur on 04-03-2009. The main aim of the meeting was to gear up the Civil Defence activities in the town. Some instructions regarding chalking out of plan for Civil Defence activities were given by Dy.Commissioner Udhampur.
  • Civil Defence organised valedictory function of 25 days Refresher Training Course of VHGs at CTI HG/CD Jammu on 07-03-2009. During the training 45 VHGs participated and passed out successfully. On this occasion Sh.Mohd Aslam, Dy.SP, was the chief guest.
  • Civil Defence Basic Training Course was organised at Civil Defence town Akhnoor w.e.f. 18-03-2009 to 24-03-2009 in which 53 Civil Defence volunteers have undergone Civil Defence Basic Training.
  • The valedictory function of 10 days Capsule Training Course was organised at Central Training Institute, HG/CD Jammu on 25-03-2009. On this occasion, Sh.P.D.Sharma, Dy.SP, I/C Principal CTI HG/CD Jammu was the chief guest.
  • A Civil Defence demonstration of the equipments recently purchased by the department to curb the disasters were held in Dal lake at Nehru Park, Srinagar on 27-03-2009. Sh.Dilbag Singh, IPS, IGP HG/CD & Auxiliary J&K also present on the occasion.
  • A farewell party was organised at Aux.Police 1st Bn. Srinagar on 20-03-2009 in connection with relieving of Sh.Amjad Parvez Mirza, SSP transferred from Commandant Aux.Police 1st Bn. Srinagar to SSP PCR Jammu.
  • Civil Defence Town Udhampur organised five days Civil Defence Basic training course w.e.f. 26-03-2009 to 31-03-2009 at JK Public Hr.Sec. School Udhampur in which 112 Civil Defence volunteers have undergone the course.
  • 30 days Advance training course for VHGs started at CTI HG/CD Jammu w.e.f. 06-04-2009 to 05-05-2009 in which 42 VHGs have attended and undergone CD training course.
  • On the eve of Baisakhi festival, Civil Defence installed First Aid camp at Akhnoor on 13-4-2009. During the camp Civil Defence life saving jackets, Rescue equipments and dressing material for Civil Defence were diplayed for awareness among the general public.
  • One day Civil Defence demonstration cum awareness camp was organised at ETT Rainbow College Kathua on 28-04-2009. Sh.Dhian Chand, Chief Warden Civil Defence Kathua also delivered a lecture on the occasion. At least 150 students of the college attended the camp besides prominent citizens of the locality.
