SH.S.GOPAL REDDY, IPS IGP HG/CD & AUX. POLICE J&K HELD A DARBAR OF AUX. POLICE PERSONNEL AT JAMMU ON 26-05-2010

A darbar of Aux. Police officers/officials of 2nd Bn. was held by Sh.S.Gopal Reddy, IPS IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K at Aux. Police 2nd Bn. Hqrs. Jammu on 26.05.2010. During the darbar, he briefed the police personnel and directed them to discharge their duties with dedication and devotion to become public friendly force. IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K listened to the grievances of Jawans and gave on spot instructions for their redressal.

The Commandant Aux. Police 2nd Bn. Jammu was asked that SDRF Coy be deployed at various locations during forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra in Jammu province. After the darbar, Aux. Police 2nd Bn. complex was inspected. Among others Sh.Sham Lal Sharma, IPS, SSP, Sh.P.D.Sharma, Dy.SP, Sh.Mohd Aslam, Dy.SP, Smt.Monika Sagar, Dy.SP, Sh.Chanderjeet Singh, Dy.SP, Sh.Parveen Singh Dy.SP and Sh.Mohd Aslam, Dy.SP were also present on the occasion.


 

 

SH.S.GOPAL REDDY, IPS IGP HG/CD & AUX. POLICE J&K REVIEW THE ACTIVITIES OF CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN BUDGAM

On 12-6-2010, Civil Defence Budgam organised one day Civil Defence awareness cum training camp at Boys Higher Secondary School Nagam (Chadoora). Sh.S.Gopal Reddy, IPS IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He stressed upon the students and people to join Civil Defence as Civil Defence volunteers. He highlighted the role of Civil Defence / Homeguards in the maintenance of peace, providing rescue during floods, avalanches, fire fighting and first aid during disasters. He also said that Civil Defence/ Homeguards are the voluntary members and are not Govt. servant. He appealed the audience to join the hands of our organisation to serve the welfare of society. A lecture on Biological warfare was delivered by Prof.G.M.Dar, I/C Disaster Management Cell IMPA. Besides the students of the school, Anganwari workers/ school teachers of Nagam Chadoora were also present.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED AWARENESS CAMP AT DREAM LAND PUBLIC SCHOOL JANIPUR

On 10-05-2010, Civil Defence Jammu organised one day awareness camp at Dream land Public School Janipur, Jammu under the supervision of Sh.Khalil-Ur-Rehman, Dy.SP, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Jammu. The main aim of the awareness camp was to facilitate the students/ teaching staff members with regard to preventive measures during unexpected devastating fires, first aid etc. Similar type of awareness cum training camp was also organised at Town Hall Jammu on 03-05-2010 in which employees’ of J&K Bank participated and were briefed about the bad effects of drinking alcohol and smoking.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE SUNDERBANI ORGANISED ONE DAY AWARENESS CAMP AT ITI COLLEGE SUNDERBANI

On 12-5-2010, Civil Defence Sunderbani organised one day awareness camp at ITI College Sunderbani. About 120 students and staff members participated who were briefed about the bad effects of Smoking/drinking alcohol. Smt. Vimla Pathania, Dy.Divisional Warden, Sh.Navneet Gupta, Dy.Post Warden delivered lectures on the topic ‘No Smoking/ drinking alcohol’. On this occasion, Civil Defence certificates alongwith training allowance were distributed among the recently trained CD volunteers of the ITI institute.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE AWARENESS CAMP WAS ORGANISED AT GOVT. HR. SEC. SCHOOL KATHUA

On 13-05-2010, one day Civil Defence awareness camp was organised at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Boys Kathua in collaboration with Fire & Emergency Services under the supervision of Sh.Mohd Aslam, Dy.SP, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Kathua. About 300 students and staff members participated in the programme and were briefed about the bad effects of drinking alcohol and smoking. SDRF team alongwith two instructors from CTI HG/CD Jammu were also deputed for effective awareness among the students and general masses. Sh.P.K.Bhat, Div. Fire officer Kathua also delivered lecture on fire-fighting.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE SAMBA IMPARTED AWARNESS AMONG THE STUDENTS AT SMAILPUR

On 28-5-2010, an awareness camp was organised by Civil Defence Samba at Govt. Higher Secondary School Smailpur including Govt. Middle School Smailpur. About 500 students alongwith Staff participated in the awareness camp. SDRF team members demonstrated a live demonstration on First aid and rescue operation. On the occasion Sh.Parveen Singh, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Samba briefed the participants about bad effects of Smoking/drinking alcohol. Entire wardens service of the town also participated in the camp.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED AWARENESS CAMP AT BUDGAM ON THE OCCASION OF ‘WORLD ANTI TOBACCO DAY’

On 31-5-2010, Civil Defence Budgam and Homeguards Srinagar organised one day awareness camp at Govt. Higher Secondary School (Boys) Beerwah Budgam on the occasion of World Anti Tobacco Day.

The participants were briefed about the bad effects of smoking, alcohol drinking and drug addiction etc. On the occasion Sh.Mohd Bashir, Dy.SP,Area Commander Homeguards Sriangar, Sh.Mohd. Jamal, Artist and Dr.Abdul Majeed, Dy.Chief Warden delivered lectures on the topic ‘No to Smoking/ Drugs / Drinking Alcohol and Yes to Health’.


 

 

TO REVIEW THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR SHRI AMARNATH JI YATRA, A MEETING OF ALL THE WARDENS OF CIVIL DEFENCE TOWN JAMMU WAS CONVENED AT RCDCC JAMMU

In order to review the arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Duty-2010, a meeting of all the wardens of Civil Defence Town Jammu was convened at RCDCC Jammu on 10-06-2010 under the chairmanship of Sh.Basant Kumar Rath, IPS SSP Jammu. During the meeting Civil Defence wardens/volunteers were briefed to assist the local Police in order to make the Amarnath Yatra successful. SSP Jammu said that during Amarnath Ji Yatra a large number of pilgrims from all over India shall participate. The services of Civil Defence wardens/volunteers shall be utilized in different places of Jammu City like Railway Station, Bus Stand, Airport & Yatri Bhawan Bhagwati Nagar Jammu etc. Civil Defence wardens/ volunteers were informed to wear CD Jackets & Caps during their duty. Sh.Jugal Mahajan, Chief Warden Civil Defence Jammu assured that full co-operation will be provided from the Civil Defence Wardens/Volunteers in making the Yatra more successful. Besides Civil Defence Wardens, Sh.Randeep Kumar, SP City Jammu, Sh.Khalil-Ur-Rehman, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Jammu, Sh.Shamsher Singh Sambyal, SDPO City Jammu also participated in the meeting.


 

 

CIVIL DEFECE ORGANISED FIRST AID CUM CD AWARENESS CAMP AT HOLY SHRINE KHEER BAWANAI TULMULLAH

Civil Defence Srinagar organised two days first aid/ CD awareness camp at Holy Shrine Kheer Bawani on 18th & Tulmullah 19th June 2010. Soft drinks/ portable fresh drinking water alongwith First Aid facilities were kept available during the camp. Various dignitaries including Hon’ble Chief Minister and his few cabinet Ministers, Director General of Police visited the Shrine and appreciated working of such camps at the holy shrine for facilitating the devotees seeking the obeisance in the holy shrine. Sh.Tilak Raj, SSP, S.O to IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K also visited the camp and thanked the volunteers / other working staff for their good performance.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE INSTALLED AWARENESS CUM FIRST AID CAMP DURING CHAMLYAL MELA AT SAMBA

On the occasion of Baba Chamlyal Mela, awareness cum first aid camp was organised by Civil Defence Samba at Chamlyal (Ramgarh) on 24-06-2010. During the camp Civil Defence rescue equipments, Fire fighting, first aid etc were also kept available to meet any eventuality as well as for Civil Defence awareness among the general public. The Civil Defence Ambulance was also kept available during the mela. Sh.Surjeet Singh Slathia, Hon’ble Minister for industries J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. Sh.Madan Lal Hon`ble MP J&K. Sh.Anil Gupta, IAS, Addl. Dy.Commissioner Samba also inspected the camp and appreciated the role of Civil Defence. The camp was organised under the supervision of Sh.Parveen Singh, Dy.SP, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Samba.


 

 

ARRANGEMENTS OF SH.AMAR NATH JI YATRA CAMP AT NUNWAN PAHALGAM, IGP HG/CD & AUX. POLICE J&K HELD A CIVIL DEFENCE WARDENS MEETING

On 17-05-2010, Civil Defence wardens alongwith Gh.Nabi, Dy.SP, Dy.Controller CD Anantnag attended the office of IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police  J&K at Srinagar regarding arrangements of establishing Amar Nath Ji Yatra duty camps at Nunwan Pahalgam and other CD activities. IGP HG/CD & Aux. Police J&K briefed the CD wardens to work with great dedication and extend their full cooperation to the local Police. He also desired to organise one or two CD programmes in a week to aware the general public.


 

 

NEWS IN BRIEF

  • Sh.Zahoor Ahmed, Dy.SP, Principal CTI HG/CD Srinagar addressing the participants during CD awareness camp at Budgam
    Civil Defence Budgam organised two days awareness cum training camp at Rakhshalina, Tehsil Chadoora on 12th & 13th May 2010. About 43 young people participated in the camp. As this area is prone for floods, Mohammad Yaqoob, Sector Warden of the area was asked to open a Civil Defence Unit to tackle any eventuality.
  • On 14-5-2010, Civil Defence awareness camp was organised at Govt. Higher Secondary school Vijaypur by CD Samba. During the camp 400 students and staff members participated. The SDRF team members from Aux. Police 2nd Bn. were also deputed for demonstration and briefing the participants. Similar type of awareness camp was also organised at Govt. Higher Secondary School Jakh on 15-05-2010. Sh.Dharmvir Singh, Chief Warden, Sh.Sanjay Gupta, Dy.Chief Warden were also present during the camp.
  • On 19-5-2010, Civil Defence awareness camp was organised at Govt. Middle school Phangdour by CD Samba. During the camp 200 students and staff members participated. Sh.Dharmvir Singh, Chief Warden briefed the students about the bad effect of drinking alcohol and smoking. Similar type of awareness camp was also organised at National High School Samba on 22-05-2010. Sh.Sanjay Gupta, Dy.Chief Warden, Sh.Raman Singh, Sector warden were also present during the camp.
  • Civil Defence instructors briefed the NCC cadets during an awareness camp at Patnitop organised by Civil Defence Udhampur
    On 21-05-2010, Civil Defence Udhampur organised one day CD awareness camp at Patnitop. During the camp, about 400 NCC cadets participated and were made aware about the bad effects of tobacco, Smoking and drinking alcohol. They were also briefed about role and activity of Civil Defence during disasters.
  • On 22-5-2010, one day Civil Defence awareness camp was organised at ETT Rainbow College Kathua. Sr. Supdt. of Police Kathua was also present on the occasion. After the camp, two minutes silence was also observed on the said demise of Sh.Mohd Masood, Sector Warden Kathua.
  • On 22-5-2010, one day CD awareness camp was organised by Civil Defence Awantipura at Boys High School Latipora regarding bad effects of alcohol and smoking.
  • On 22-5-2010, one day Civil Defence awareness camp was organised at ETT Rainbow College Kathua in which SSP Kathua was the Chief Guest. Dr.Bharat Bushan from Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Kathua delivered lecture with regards to bad effects of drinking/smoking. Sh.Mohd Aslam, Dy.SP, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Kathua highlighted the role of Civil Defence during disaster.
  • On 24-05-2010, an awareness camp on bad effects of smoking/alcohol drinking and use of drugs/narcotics was organised at Global Public High School Kaloosa, Bandipora by CTI HG/CD Srinagar. During the camp, students of 10th class, teachers and Principal of the school participated.
  • On 25-5-2010, Civil Defence awareness camp on anti smoking/drinking alcohol was organised at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Raj Bagh, Hiranagar by Civil Defence Kathua. During the camp, Dr.Nathi Ram, District health officer, Sh.Dhian Chand, Chief Warden Kathua delivered lecture on the subject. About 200 students of the school participated in the awareness camp.
  • On 26-05-2010, Civil Defence awareness camp regarding dis-advantages of smoking/drinking alcohol was held at High School Sathora and Fathapur, Thanamandi by Civil Defence Poonch.
  • On 28-05-2010, one Civil Defence awareness camp on bad effects of drinking alcohol and smoking was organised at Govt. Middle School Nowshera. About 230 students including staff members participated during the camp.
  • On 05-06-2010, Civil Defence Udhampur launched cleaning drive at Devika Complex Udhmapur in collaboration with Range Police Headquarters Udhampur. Sh.Gulzar Singh Slathia, IPS DIG Udhampur was also present on the occasion.

    On the occasion of Tourism festival Mela w.e.f. 16-06-2010, Civil Defence Doda installed a stall of CD equipments at Bhaderwah. The main aim of organizing stall of CD equipments was to highlight the Civil Defence activities and awareness among the general public. During the opening ceremony of the festival, a colourfull programme was organised. Sh.Ghulam Nabi Azad, Hon’ble Union Health Minister of India was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chief Guest alongwith Tourism Minister inspected the stalls.
  • On 19-6-2010, an awareness camp on Chemical Warfare was organised by Civil Defence Samba at United Phosphorus Ltd. IGC Samba. About 100 employees/workers of industry participated in the awareness camp and were briefed by the Civil Defence experts under the supervision of Sh.Parveen Singh, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Samba. SDRF team along with CTI HG/CD Jammu’s instructors exhibited a live demonstration on ‘first aid, fire-fighting & rescue operation.
  • On the eve of Baba Sidh Goria Mela, Civil Defence Samba organised two days awareness camp at Swankha, Vijaypur on 19th and 20th July 2010. A CD ambulance alongwith CD volunteers were deployed to facilitate the general public during Mela.
  • On 21-6-2010, One day Civil Defence awareness camp on Biological Warfare was organised at Kids Heaven Convent High School, Kathua. On the occasion Sh.Sheikh Mohd Aslam, Dy.Controller Civil Defence Kathua and Dr.A.K.Malhotra delivered lectures on the subject.
  • On 23-6-2010, a Civil Defence awareness camp on biological warfare organised at Govt. Degree College Kathua under the supervision of Sh.Mohd Aslam Dy.Controller CD Kathua. On this occasion, Civil Defence certificates alongwith pocket money were also distributed among the trained CD volunteers.
  • On 26-06-2010, Civil Defence Town Akhnoor organised CD awareness rally from Shiv Chowk to Bus Stand Akhnoor. About 200 students alongwith Civil Defence volunteers participated in the rally to aware the general public on bad effects of smoking / drinking alcohol and drugs.
  • On 26-6-2010, district administration Budgam organised a seminar on “Drug abuse and illicit trafficking, aids control, anti smoking programme” at Shiekh–ul-Alam Hall in collaboration with Health Department, Social Welfare Department and Civil Defence Budgam. The lectures on the subject were delivered by Dr.Abdul Majid, Dy.Chief Warden CD Budgam followed by presentation by Dr.Abdullah, CMO Budgam and the concluding lecture by Sh.Mohammad Rafi, Dy.Commissioner Budgam.
  • Civil Defence team alongwith rescue equipments were deployed in CD ambulance during a motor rally from Bafliaz to Peer- ki-Gali held at Mughal Road, a far flung area of Surankote under the orders of worthy Dy. Commissioner cum controller CD Poonch on 26-6-2010.
