UNDER PILOT PROJECT SCHEME CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISATION STARTED TRAINING OF TRAINERS PRORAMME FOR COMMUNITY POLICING AT JAMMU & UDHAMPUR

The Govt. of India has launched a Pilot project scheme in Civil Defence. Under this scheme district Jammu and Udhampur have been brought under Pilot project in order to involve the community for handling internal security, Law & order situation and sharing intelligence inputs with local Police. For bringing this project on practical line, the Civil Defence J&K organised two separate training courses for trainers in Civil Defence districts Jammu w.e.f. 27-09-2010 and Udhampur w.e.f. 25-10-2010 where under Civil Defence Wardens and Volunteers were imparted six day’s training course in different batches. The main aim of the training was to involve community for cooperating in handling internal security, Law & Order situation and sharing intelligence inputs with local Police. The services of master trainers & guest lecturers from traffic wing, bomb disposal squad, Security wing and Department of Disaster Manangement were also utilized for imparting expertise training to the trainees. During opening and closing of these training courses Senior officers, Chief Wardens of Civil Defence and prominent citizens witnessed the occasions.


 

 

SH.S.GOPAL REDDY, IPS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE

The government has promoted three senior IPS officers to the rank of Additional Director’s General of Police vide Govt. order No.Home-1341(P) of 2010 dated 28-10-2010. The officers promoted are Sh.S.K.Mishra, IPS, Sh.Ram Lubhaya, IPS and Sh.S.Gopal Reddy, IPS. They have been given promotion with effect from July 19, 2010.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED FIRST AID CUM AWARENESS CAMP AT JAMMU

On 05-09-2010, one day awareness camp was organized by District Red Cross Society Jammu regarding Blood Grouping, Influenza, H1N1 and First Aid etc at Hr.Sec. School Chowki Choura, Jammu. Civil Defence first aid team also demonstrated in this camp. The main aim of the camp was to make aware the students, staff and senior citizens of the locality about the Blood Grouping & First Aid before Hospitalization etc.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED ONE DAY AWARENESS CAMP AT NUD SAMBA

On 25-09-2010, Civil Defence Samba organized one day awareness camp at Govt. Higher Secondary School Nud. About 400 student alongwith staff members participated in the camp and were aware about the history and importance of Civil Defence. Civil Defence instructors alongwith SDRF personnel aware the participants about the ‘Blackout’ and also demonstrated on first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED AWARENESS CAMP AT GOVT. DEGREE COLLEGE KATHUA

On 01-10-2010, one day Civil Defence awareness camp on Earthquake was organized at Govt. Degree College Kathua. On the occasion, Dy.Commissioner cum Controller Civil Defence Kathua was the chief Guest. During the camp about 300 students/staff members participated and were made aware about the Civil Defence skills by the Civil Defence team. Sh.Dian Chand, Chief Warden Civil Defence Kathua also delivered lecture on earthquake. On 02-10-2010, Civil Defence Kathua also organized one day awareness camp on Earthquake at Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School Kathua in which Chief Education officer Kathua was the chief guest.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE DODA ORGANISED AWARENESS CAMP AT ARNORA GHATT DODA

On 04-10-2010, one day Civil Defence awareness camp was organized at Jowaher Nav Vidyale (J.N.V) School Arnora Ghatt Doda by Civil Defence Doda. During the camp, about 500 students and staff members of the school participated and were acquainted with Civil Defence activities such as first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation etc. by the Civil Defence team Doda. A live demonstration on rescue operation was also conducted on the occasion.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE KATHUA’S DIVERS FISHED OUT DEAD BODY FROM CANAL RAVI NEAR LAKHANPUR

On 11-10-2010, Civil Defence Kathua deputed rescue team alongwith its divers in Ravi canal near Lakhanpur for searching dead body of Truck Cleaner. Civil Defence team alongwith District Police launched rescue operation and fished out the dead body identified as Doud Ahmed Khan S/o Sh.Gulzar Khan R/O Chhan Pura Srinagar who was drowned while taking bath in the canal.


 

 

CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISED AWARENESS-CUM-TRAINING CAMP ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT AT AKHNOOOR

Civil Defence Akhnoor organised two days awareness camp on Disaster management at Govt. Degree College Akhnoor w.e.f. 08-10-2010 to 09-10-2010. About 900 students/ staff members participated and were made aware by the CD instructors about the role and importance of Civil Defence during Disaster. The main aim of the camp was to make aware the participants for taking preventative measures during unexpected devastating fire.


 

 

NEWS IN BRIEF:

  • On 20-9-2010, one day Civil Defence awareness camp was organized at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Boys Doda. During the camp, students/staff members were briefed about the role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster. A demonstration on fire fighting was also exhibited among the participants by the Civil Defence team.
  • On 22-9-2010, Civil Defence Nowshera organized one day awareness camp at Govt. High School Qilla Dharal. About 130 students/staff members participated in the camp and were briefed by the Civil Defence instructors about the Blackout during Air Raids or during any other man-made or natural calamity.
  • On 22-09-2010, Civil Defence team Sunderbani organized one day awareness camp at Govt. Middle School Kalideh (Kangri) in which about 150 students/staff members participated and were made aware by CD team about Civil Defence activities. On this occasion, Smt.Bimla Pathania, Dy.Divisional Warden also delivered lecture on black out before Air Raid among the participants.
  • On 24-9-2010, Civil Defence Samba organized one day awareness camp at Adarsh Vidya Peeth Hr. Secondary School Samba. About 500 students/ staff members participated. Sh.Sanjay Gupta, Dy.Chief Warden and Sh.Raj Singh, Post Warden make aware the participants about the Blackout. Similarly on 28-9-2010, an awareness camp on Blackout was organized at Chichi Mata in which about 320 devotees participated. Among others entire wardens’ service of CD Town Samba attended these awareness camps.
  • On 25-9-2010, Civil Defence Doda organized one day awareness camp at Shaheen Public Hr. Secondary School Doda. During the camp, participants were briefed about the role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster. On this occasion, an Air Raid warning demonstration was also given to the students by the CD team.
  • On 27-9-2010, Civil Defence Kathua organized one day awareness camp in the office of Divisional Warden CD Kathua. About 200 students/staff members of ETT Rainbow College Kathua and media person participated. During the camp, participants were briefed by the CD team about the importance of Civil Defence during disaster and also suggested methods of Blackout during Air Raids or any other urgency.
  • On the occasion of Radha Swami Satsang w.e.f. 08-10-10 to 10-10-2010, Civil Defence Samba deputed CD Ambulance alongwith rescue team at Najwal Samba to meet any eventuality.
  • On 10-10-2010, a bus coming from Kathua to Najwal met with an accident at Swankha Morh, Samba. Civil Defence team Samba reached on spot and started rescue operation alongwith local Police. One person died on spot and 16 persons were injured. Injured persons were shifted to Hospital Vijaypur in Civil Defence Ambulance for further treatment.
  • On the occasion of Navratra, Civil Defence Samba organised one day awareness camp at Chichi Mata on 14-10-2010. About 525 devotees participated in the programme and were briefed about the role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster. On the occasion Civil Defence team alongwith ambulance were also kept available to meet any eventuality/ mis-happening.
  • On the occasion of Dushera on 17 -10-2010, Civil Defence Samba deputed rescue team alongwith ambulance at Kalhi Ground Samba to meet out any eventuality.
  • A view of lecture cum demonstration programme organized at MET Higher Secondary School Thanna Mandi Rajouri on 27-10-2010
    With the collaboration of Civil Defence Rajouri, 7th Bn. Nation Disaster Response Force organized Mock Exercises/lecture cum demonstrations on firemen lift, Air Raids, Earthquake, Blackout and rescue operation in district Rajouri w.e.f. 25-10-2010 to 29-10-2010.
  • On 30-10-2010, Civil Defence Divers of Doda rescued one person namely Sh.Abdul Gani S/O Sh.Sh.Nikka Gujjar R/O Ugad of District Doda from drowning in River Chinab at Pull Doda while he was laboring at the bank of River.
  • On 30-10-2010, Civil Defence Nowshera organized one day awareness camp at Govt. Higher Secondary School Kalsian, Nowshera. About 150 students/staff members participated in the camp.
