J&K HOMEGUARDS/CIVIL DEFENCE CELEBRATED ITS
52ND RAISING DAY ON 6TH DECEMBER 2014

Homeguard/Civil Defence Organization celebrated its 52nd Raising Day alongwith other States of India at Parade Ground of SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu. An impressive parade was held by the contingents of SDRF, Homeguard and Civil Defence. On the occasion Shri Suresh Kumar, IAS, the then Principal Secretary to Govt. Home Department J&K was the Chief Guest who took the salute.

Sh. J.P. Singh, IPS the then IGP Homeguards/CD & SDRF J&K welcomed the Chief Guest/participants and read out the Raising Day messages of Hon’ble Governor of J&K, Chief Secretary, J&K and Director General of Police J&K.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest said that 6th December reminds us of the Chinese aggression of 1962, which led to the raising of Homeguards/Civil Defence to deal with the internal security and security of vital installations of the country. The Chief Guest further said that the new emerging trends surfacing day by day like climatic change, melting of glaciers, storms, floods, earthquakes have posed challenges before us, which have to be taken care of to avert the chances of draught and loss of human life and property. He cautioned that our State being a multi disaster prone State falling in Seismic Zones 4 and 5 requires more and more attention of the volunteers.

He assured that Government is duty bound to provide all financial assistance to the SDRF Battalions to equip them with latest Technique and Technology to face these major challenges. Moreover, Shri Suresh Kumar, IAS also honoured 10 Civil Defence Wardens for their exemplary voluntary service, during the recent floods in J&K.

Sh. Stenzin Norboo, SSP, Commandant, SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu conveyed vote of thanks on behalf of the organization to the Chief Guest, Senior Police/ Civil officers, the retired police officers, organizing committee, members of media faculty, members of Civil Defence demonstration Team, Medical Team, District Police, Traffic Police, Security Police, Police Telecommunication Team and particularly the Print And Electronic Media for their assistance in making the programme a successful event.

Similarly, Annual Raising Day of Home Guards and Civil Defence was also celebrated at SDRF 1st Bn. Headquarters Barzulla Srinagar on 06-12-2014. Shri Mehraj Shah, SP the then Commandant SDRF 1st Bn Kashmir who was the Chief Guest on the occasion took salute on March past and enumerated the Role of Home Guards and Civil Defence during the natural calamities. Besides, Parade/March past, Mock drill and demonstrations with regard to rescue operations and Disaster Management was conducted on the occasion. Various Senior officers, Civil Defence Wardens and prominent citizens participated in the Raising Day function. A Bara Khana was also organized for officers and jawans on the occasion.


CIVIL DEFENCE SRINAGAR ORGANISED RELIEF DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME AND INSTALLATION OF PRE FABRICATED SHELTERS TO FLOOD VICTIMS

On 13-12-2014, Civil Defence Srinagar organised relief distribution programme at RCDCC Srinagar. During the programme handicrafts alongwith fruits distributed among the flood affected people of Srinagar. Moreover, CD Srinagar took part in relief distribution among the flood effected people at Gouripora Rainawari and Saida Kadal on 28-01-2015 in which about 200 people were present. On 29-01-2015, CD Srinagar organised relief distribution programme among the flood effected people at Khandaypora Pulwama which include 130 families.

Sh.Nisar Ahmed, Dy.SP Dy.Controller Civil Defence Srinagar alongwith other officers/officials during relief distribution programme and installation of pre fabricated shelters to flood victims at various places of J&K

Moreover, Civil Defence Srinagar also took part relief distribution programme among the flood effected people at Sumbal Sonawari on 30-01-2015 which includes more than 70 families. Civil Defence Srinagar organised relief distribution programme and installation of pre fabricated shelters to flood victims at Lasjan, Batmaloo, Srinagar on 15-02-2015 in which 15 families presented on the occasion.

On 16-02-2015, Civil Defence Srinagar organised relief distribution programme and installation of pre fabricated shelters to flood victims at Bemina, Parimpora and Srinagar in which 11 families availed the benefits of relief distribution. Civil Defence Srinagar organised flood relief programme for installation of pre fabricated shelters at Poonch and Rajouri w.e.f 01-03-2015 to 04-03-2015 in which 30 families availed the benefit of programme. Civil Defence Srinagar organised flood reflief programme for installation of pre fabricated shelters at Bemina/Gund Hassi Bhat w.e.f 08-03-2015 to 12-03-2015 in which 30 families availed the benefit of the programme.


DRAWING COMPETITION ON ROAD SAFETY BY
PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS HELD AT SRINAGAR

On 13-01-2015, J&K State Social Welfare Board, Institute of Hotel Management Rajbagh and Civil Defence joined hands with Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir to organize a drawing competition on Road Safety by Physically Challenged Persons.

The programme was inaugurated by SDM Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid, IAS, in presence of Secretary, J&K State Social Welfare Board Aamir Ali, Principal Institute of Hotel Management Mr. Srivastava, Deputy Director (News) Doordarshan, Mr. Shafiq Ahmed Qureshi, Dy. Controller, Civil Defence, Nasir Khan and Dy. Chief Warden Civil Defence, Mauzam Bakshi. More than 50 Persons from across the Kashmir Division, having different physical disabilities, participated in the drawing competition.

The Valedictory function was chaired by Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmed Shah, KAS and attended among others by Mehran Khan, State Coordinator Handicap International, ART0 Srinagar Mubashir Ahmed, Faculty Member IHM Javaid Ahmed Bhat and Junaid Baigh from J&K Mountaineering and Hiking Club judged the drawings based on the level of disability of the participants. Certificates of participation were given to all participants. The concluding function of the Road Safety week was held on 17th January 2015.


CIVIL DEFENCE VOLUNTEERS MANAGE TRAFFIC JUNCTIONS AT JAMMU

On the instructions of Sh. Muneer Ahmed Khan, IPS the then Inspector General of Police Traffic J&K, a contingent of around 50 CD Volunteers provided their services and assisted the Traffic Police Jammu to maintain smooth flow of traffic, on the occasion of Road Safety Week w.e.f 17-01-2015 under close supervision of Smt.Tajinder Kour, Dy.Controller CD Jammu. At Patta Bohri Talab Tillo Chowk they assisted Dy. SP Traffic Mrs. Usha Kher, who appreciated their voluntary spirit. Earlier DIG Traffic Nissar Ahmed and SSP Traffic City Mohan Lal briefed the CD Volunteers and assigned them various junctions which are highly prone to accidents and traffic jamming. The public in general and motorists in particular, highly appreciated the CD Volunteers, who helped the old-aged persons to cross the roads as well.


COMMISSIONER SOCIAL WELFARE INAUGURATED DISASTER PREPAREDNESS TRAINING PROGRAMME AT PRAGATI BHAWAN, RAIL HEAD COMPLEX, JAMMU.

On 04-02-2015, Sh. Sanjeev Verma, IAS Commissioner/Secretary to Government Social Welfare Department J&K inaugurated two days Disaster Preparedness training for officers and staff of various Advisory Boards, under the administrative control of Social Welfare Department. The training was organised by J&K State Social Welfare Board in collaboration with ‘Civil Defence’, ‘Doctors for You’ and ‘Bharti Airtel’ at Pragati Bhawan, Rail Head Complex, Jammu. More than 50 participants from Social Welfare Board, Pahari Board, OBC Board, Scheduled Caste Board, Kissan Board, State Women’s Commission and Airtel staff participated in the training. Besides Director Tribal Affairs Ali Raza, Mission Director ICDS Dr GN Itoo, Director Social Welfare Deptt Jammu MS Chaudhary, Managing Director WDC, MD SC & ST Corp YP Suman, Secy. Gujjar & Bakerwal Latief Poswal, Director Finance Abdul Majid, Joint Director Planning, Additional Secretary Babu Ram and MA Hakak and other senior officers also participated.

Speaking on the occasion Commissioner Social Welfare Sh.Sanjeev Verma said that disaster preparedness training should be made mandatory for all sections of the society, particularly for the staff of Social Welfare, as they are directly dealing with the weaker and vulnerable sections of the society. Verma appreciated the initiative taken by Social Welfare Board for organising the training. He expressed hope that these life saving skills acquired during the training would be utilised by the staff in their day to day affairs, as well as in emergencies. He asked the officers and employees of Social Welfare department and Boards to work with dedication, zeal and devotion. He directed that the welfare schemes of the department should be given adequate publicity in print and electronic media, so that the benefits of these schemes can be availed by those, who are most deserving. He stressed that Persons with Disabilities, who are most vulnerable in any disaster, should be identified and covered under benefits of welfare schemes to reduce their vulnerability.

Earlier, Executive Director/Secretary, J&K State Social Welfare Board, Aamir Ali welcomed the participants and gave a brief resume about the training sessions. Secretary Pahari Board, Shoukat Hussain Kazmi presented vote of thanks. Later during the technical session Dr. IPS Bali and Dr. Balram Jadhav from Doctors for You briefed the participants about Basic First Aid. The participants were also trained in Fire Fighting, types of fires, proper use of fire extinguishers. On 05-02-2015, Sh.J.P.Singh, IPS IGP was Chief Guest on valedictory function. As many as 50 participants from Social Welfare Board, Pahari Board, OBC Board, Schedule Caste Board, Kissan Board besides State Commission for Women, Doctors for You and staff of Airtel participated in the programme.

 
 
Smt.Tajinder Kour, Dy.SP Dy.Controller Civil Defence Jammu addressed the media person during Disaster Preparedness training programme held at Pragati Bhawan Rail head Jammu

The IGP appreciated the organizers for conducting such programme and expressed hope that the training would be disseminated to all sections of the society. He said people, especially youth, should join civil defence as the J&K State is a disaster prone State. He said aim and objective of such trainings is to sensitize people about how to rescue people in case of eventuality or disaster. Mr. Singh said that such training programmes would be conducted in all the districts in future.

Earlier, a mock drill was held by the trainers of the civil defence during the training demonstrated various knots and rescue methods. They also demonstrated how floating devices can be made with homemade material, which can prove useful during disasters. On the occasion Deputy Controller Civil Defence Tejinder Kour, Secretaries of various boards Shokat Hussain Kazmi, Mohammed Tanvir, Mehraj ud din Rather and Sham Lal, officers/officials including staff of Airtel and Dr. Balram Jadhav and Dr. IPS Bali, were present. Later, the IGP along with the Secretary SWB distributed certificates among the participants.

  • CD Poonch: Civil Defence Poonch organised five awareness camps in district Poonch at Panchyat Ghar Jara Wali Gali Surankot Poonch on 31-12-2014, at Panchyat Ghar Khnetar Poonch on 01-01-2015, at Govt. High School Gali Kala Ban Mendar on 10-01-2015, at Govt. Hr. Secondary School Gursai Mendhar on 12-02-2015 and at Govt. Middle School Baila Mandi on 19-03-2015 . During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were made aware about Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the Civil Defence and SDRF personnel.
    Moreover, Civil Defence Poonch also conducted 05 days CD basic training camp at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Khanatar Poonch w.e.f 16-02-2015 to 21-02-2015 in which about 116 students participated and 15 days Civil Defencec cum Disaster Management camp at SDRF component Poonch w.e.f.15-01-2015 to 29-01-2015 in which 19 VHGs participated. During these training camps, participants were imparted training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the Civil Defence and SDRF instructors.

    CD Samba: Civil Defence Samba organised twelve CD awareness camps in district Samba at Village Daini Samba on 03-12-2014, Village Paped Brahmana Samba on 11-12-2014, Village Sarba, Ramgarh on 18-12-2014, Village Chhan Gudian Ghagwal, Samba on 26-12-2014, Village Jatah Samba on 12-01-2015, village Sangar Purmandal Samba on 20-01-2015, Rattanpur Samba on 18-01-2015, village Dubh Samba on 04-02-2015, village Smotha Gouran Samba on 13-02-2015, Naran Muthi Jatwal Samba on 18-02-2015, village Radma Ramgarh Samba on 26-02-2015, Panchyat Halqa Ramgarh Samba on 28-02-2015. During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were made aware about role of Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the Civil Defence and SDRF personnel.
  • CD Kathua: Civil Defence Kathua organised nine CD awareness camps in district Kathua at Sai International School Hiranagar on 23-12-2014, PWD Rest House Hiranagar on 19-01-2015, CD Office Kathua on 23-01-2015, Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua on 29-01-2015, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Marheen on 12-02-2015, Kendriya Vidyalaya Hiranagar on 21-02-2015, CD office Kathua on 06-03-2015, w.no.11 Basholi on 12-03-2015 and Panchyat ghar Budhi Kathua on 19-03-2015, During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were made aware about Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the Civil Defence and SDRF personnel. Civil Defence Kathua also conducted 15 days training on Civil Defence and Disaster Management at CD Kathua w.e.f. 23-2-2015 to 12-3-2015 and Police Station Billawar w.e.f. 18-03-2015 to 31-03-2015. During these camps about 35 Homeguard volunteers participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operations by CD/SDRF instructors. Moreover, on 10-02-2015, Civil Defence and SDRF team Kathua also conducted a rescue operation in River ‘Ravi’ at Beri Pattan Kathua where two person were trapped during flash flood. The trapped personnel namely Sewa Ram S/o Sh.Kasturi Lal and Sukhdev Singh S/O Sh.Harbans Singh both were the resident of Chhani Chanora Tehsil Maquarian Distt. Hoshirpur (Punjab) were rescued safely by the CD/SDRF team.

    CD Udhampur: Civil Defence Udhampur conducted seven awareness camps in district Udhampur at village Basnote panchari on 13-12-2014, Happy Model School Udhampur on 16-12-2014, Bhartya B.ed College Udhampur on 21-01-2015, NITL Hr. Sec. School Udhampur on 31-12-2014, village Krimchi Udhampur on 16-02-2015, Tata Project Pvt.Ltd Kawa Udhampur on 04-3-2015 and on10-3-2015.. During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were made aware about role of Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the Civil Defence and SDRF personnel. Civil Defence Udhampur also organized 05 days CD basic training camp at Govt. High School Mand Udhampur w.e.f 23-02-2015 to 27-02-2015 and at Nari Niketan Kendra Udhampur w.e.f. 13-3-2015 to 17-03-2015 in which about 75 students/civilians participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors. Moreover, Civil Defence Udhampur also organised two (15 days) Civil Defence cum Disaster Management training camps w.e.f 15-01-2015 to 02-02-2015 and w.e.f 04-02-2015 to 21-02-2015 at District Police Lines Udhampur. During these camps 43 VHGs participated and were imparted training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operations by CD /SDRF instructors.
    Civil Defence and SDRF team Udhampur conducted rescue operations when a bus bearing no. JK02D-3815 met with an accident at village Johnu Udhampur on 05-02-2015. SDRF personnel rescued injured persons and shifted to District hospital and also recovered a dead body. Moreover SDRF personnel also carried out another rescue operation when a tipper bearing No.JK14C-6755 at Channi Morh Udhampur on 12-02-2015 in which driver of the vehicle was trapped badly. SDRF team rescued the driver safely and shifted to district hospital. Moreover, CD Udhampur also organized college level Symposium on the topic “Role of Youth in curbing Drugs Menace” at Shivalik College of Education Udhampur on 24-03-2015.
  • CD Rajouri: Civil Defence Rajouri conducted five CD awareness camps in Rajouri at ITI College, Rajouri on 02-12-2014, at Dasal Rajouri on 24-12-2014, at Tata
    Pani Kalakot Rajouri on 10-01-2015, at Government Higher Secondary School Darhal Malkan on 27-02-2015 and at Govt.Hr.Sec.School Manjakot on 11-3-2015. During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were made aware about role of Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the Civil Defence and SDRF personnel. Civil Defence Rajouri also organised five days CD training camp at CD office Rajouri w.e.f. 06-03-2015 to 10-03-2015 in which about 57 civilians participated and were imparted basic CD training in first aid, fire-fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors. Moreover, CD wardens/volunteers also performed law and order duty with district police during Republic Day celebrated at Rajouri
  • CD Jammu: CD Jammu organised seven CD awareness camps at Bazar Qasbana Hr. Sec. School Gujjar Nagar Jammu on 23-02-2015, MIER College of education Jammu on 26-02-2015, at Village Keri Bhalwal Jammu on 28-02-2015, at Tiny Tots Hr. School Residency Road Jammu on 09-03-2015, Village Kheri Jammu on 12-03-2015, Main stop Janipur Jammu on 18-03-2015 and at Jullakha Mohalla Jammu on 19-03-2015. During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were made aware about role of Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the Civil Defence and SDRF personnel. Civil Defence Jammu also conducted First Aid camp on the eve of Navratra festival at Bahu-Fort Jammu w.e.f 21-03-2015 to 29-03-2015 in which CD wardens/ volunteers and SDRF personnel deployed and assisted the devotees.
    Civil Defence and SDRF Jammu in collaboration with all essential services under the supervision of Dy.Commissioner Jammu on the guidelines of MHA conducted a Mock Exercise at Gulshan Ground Gandhi Nagar on 14-02-2015 in which about 500 people were present on the occasion. Moreover, Civil Defence Jammu organised three CD training camps one at at Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School Peer Mitha Jammu w.e.f. 19-01-2015 to 23-01-2015, T.S. Public High School Channi Rama Jammu w.e.f 02-02-2015 to 09-02-2015 and at Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. R.S Pura w.e.f 09-02-2015 to 13-02-2015. During these camps about 200 students participated and were imparted CD basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • CD Doda: Civil Defence Doda conducted four (15 days) Civil Defence cum Disaster Management training camps at SDRF Component Doda w.e.f 15-01-2015 31-01-2015, w.e.f 09-02-2015 to 25-02-2015, w.e.f.09-03-2015 to 24-03-2015 and at Police Station Bhaderwha w.e.f. 09-03-2015 to 24-03-2015. During these camps about 180 Homeguard volunteers participated and were imparted training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operations by CD and SDRF instructors. Moreover, CD Doda also conducted 05 days basic CD training camp at Panchayat halqa Barshalla w.e.f 09-02-2015 to 13-02-2015 and Govt. ITI Bhaderwah w.e.f. 09-3-2015 to 13-03-2015 in which about 107 CD volunteers participated and were imparted CD basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by Civil Defence instructors. Moreover, CD Doda also organised one day awareness camp at DPL Doda on 12-03-2015 in which about 250 police personnel participated and were briefed about the disaster management techniques by the CD/SDRF instructors.
    Civil Defence Doda conducted rescue operation when a tipper rolled down in Chenab at Yaadgar near Doda city on 31-01-2015. Moreover, Civil Defence Doda also conducted rescue operation at Telephone Exchange Office Doda on 20-02-2015 where the wall of the said office collapsed and fell down on the roof of residential quarters of employees of post office.
  • CD Kishtwar: Civil Defence Kisthtwar organised six CD awareness camps in district Kishtwar at Dedpath Mughal Maidan on 12-02-2015, Poochal Kishtwar on 21-02-2015, Padyarna Dool Kishtwar on 28-02-2015, at Pakalan Thraka Kishtwar on 09-03-2015, at Bhata Palmar on 17-03-2015 and at Sarthal Kishtwar on 28-03-2015.

    During these camps, a large number of students and civilians participated and were made aware about role of Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the Civil Defence and SDRF personnel. Moreover, Civil Defence Kishtwar also conducted rescue operation when a fire broke out at Sarthal Kishtwar on 19-01-2015.
  • CD Ramban: Civil Defence Ramban conducted 05 days CD basic training camp at Public High School Ramban w.e.f 17-01-2015 to 22-01-2015 in which 70 students participated and were imparted CD basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD and SDRF instructors. Moreover, Civil Defence Ramban also conducted one day CD awarenss camp at Parnote Ramban on 25-03-2015 in which about 300 people participated and were made aware about disaster management by the CD/SDRF instructors. A Civil Defence demonstration on rescue operation was also conducted at District Police Line Ramban on 26-01-2015.

    CD Reasi: Civil Defence Reasi conducted two CD training camp in district reasi at Govt. High School Sarla Bhaga w.e.f 05-01-2015 to 12-01-2015 and at Govt. High School Ser Sundwan Reasi w.e.f 04-02-2015 to 09-02-2015. During these camps about 155 students participated and were imparted CD basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD and SDRF instructors. Moreover, Civil Defence Reasi also conducted three awareness camps on 16-01-2015 and 25-02-2015 at CD office Reasi and at DPL Reasi on 12-3-2015 in which a large number of civilians participated and were briefed about role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster.
    Also during Shiv Khori Mela Reasi , Civil Defence Reasi organised first aid cum awareness camp at Ransoo Reasi w.e.f 16-02-2015 to 18-02-2015 in which a large number of people attended and were assisted during their yatra.
  • CD Sunderbani: Civil Defence Sunderbani organised 05 days CD training camp at Govt. High School Thanda Pani Sunderbani w.e.f 12-02-2015 to 18-02-2015 in which about 79 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors. Moreover, Civil Defence Sunderbani also organised two CD awareness camps at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Sunderbani on 19-02-2015 and at Govt. High School Kali Deh, Sunderbani on 25-03-2015. During these camps a large number of students participated and were made aware about importance of Civil Defence. On the occasions Divisional Warden and Civil Defence/SDRF instructors delivered lectures on first aid, snake bite and rescue operations.

    CD Nowshera: Civil Defence Nowshera conducted 05 days CD awareness camp at Panchayat halqa Langer on village Ganiah Nowshera w.e.f.26-02-2015 to 03-03-2015 in which about 50 people participated and were imparted basic training in fire-fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors. Moreover, CD Nowshera also conducted one day awareness camp at ICDS Deptt. Nowshera on 20-3-2015. During the camp about 200 people participated and were made aware about role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster by the experts.
  • CD Srinagar: Civil Defence Srinagar conducted seven Civil Defence training in district Srinagar at RCDCC Srinagar w.e.f 28-11-2014 to 03-12-2014, at Noor Bagh Srinagr w.e.f 02-12-2014 to 09-12-2014, Khanyar w.e.f 17-01-2015 to 22-01-2015, at Khayam Khanyar Srinagar w.e.f 23-02-2015 to 27-02-2015, at Rainawari Badamwari w.e.f 23-02-2015 to 27-02-2015, at DIET Srinagar w.e.f 16-03-2015 to 20-03-2015 and at SKIMS Soura w.e.f 23-03-2015 to 27-03-2015. During these camps, about 370 people participated and were imparted Civil Defence basic training in first aid, fire-fighting, rescue operation and various disaster management techniques by the CD/SDRF instructors. In order to make the trainings more effective demonstrations on the rescue operations were also conducted on the occasion by the experts.

    Moreover, On 10-12-2015, CD Srinagar conducted one day CD awareness programme at Noorbagh Srinagar in which more than 100 people participated and were made aware about Civil Defence and its importance during disaster by the CD/SDRF instructors. Civil Defence Srinagar also organised first aid cum awareness camps at Akhoon Mohalla Dal Srinagar on 25-12-2015 and Hazratbal Srinagar w.e.f. 03-01-2015 to 9-01-2015 in which a large number of people participated.
  • CD Anantnag: Civil Defence Anantnag organised seven CD awareness camps in district Anantnag at Conference Hall CD Anantnag on 16-12-2014, at Hangal Gund Kokernag on 27-02-2015, at CDCR Anantnag on 14-03-2015, Boys Degree College Anantnag on 23-03-2015, Women Degree College Anantnag on 24-03-2015, Degree College Utrasoo on 25-03-2015 and Town Hall Qazigund on 26-03-2015. During these camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were made aware about civil defence and its importance during disaster by the CD/SDRF instructors.

    Moreover, Civil Defence Anantnag conducted 05 CD / Disaster Management training Camps for Homeguard volunteers at Civil Defence Conference Hall Anantnag w.e.f 15-01-2015 to 31-01-2015, w.e.f 02-02-2015 to 19-02-2015, w.e.f 19-02-2015 to 07-03-2015 & w.e.f 08-03-2015 to 26-03-2015. During these camps, about 320 VHGs participated and were imparted Civil Defence basic training in fire-fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts. Moreover Civil Defence Anantnag conducted 05 days CD training camp at Lords Para medical Haranag Anantnag w.e.f 26-12-2014 to 01-01-2015 in which about 100 people participated and were trained in basic disaster management techniques.
  • CD Pulwama: Civil Defence Pulwama conducted three Civil Defence training camps in district Pulwama at Kadlabal and Charligund w.e.f. 04-12-2014 and at Wuyan Pampora w.e.f 01-01-2015 to 06-01-2015. During these camps, about 70 people participated and were imparted Civil Defence basic training in fire-fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts.
    Moreover, Civil Defence Pulwama conducted 15 days Disaster Management training at District Police Line Awantipora w.e.f. 02-02-2015 to 19-02-2015 in which 60 volunteers Homeguards participated and were imparted basic training in Disaster Management skills by the SDRF instructors.
  • CD Baramulla: Civil Defence Baramulla conducted seven CD awareness camps in district Baramulla at SDH Baramulla on 02-12-2014, at Khanpora Baramulla on 23-01-2015, at Delina Baramulla on 29-01-2015, at Govt. High School Boomi Sopore on 04-02-2015, at DPL Baramulla on 21-02-2015, at English Medium Model School Botangoo Sopore on 20-03-2015 and Darul-Aloom Al-Mustafie Tawheed Gungh on 06-03-2015. During these camps, a large number of people participated and were made aware about civil defence and its importance during disaster by the CD/SDRF instructors.

    Civil Defence Baramulla organised three CD basic training camps in Baramulla at AMT School Sopore w.e.f 12-01-2015 to 16-01-2015, at District Police Line Baramulla w.e.f 16-03-2015 to 20-03-2015 and at English Medium Model School Botangoo Sopore w.e.f 23-03-2015 to 27-03-2015. During these camps, about 205 students/police personnel participated and were imparted Civil Defence basic training in fire-fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts. Moreover, Civil Defence Baramulla conducted rescue operation at Khuaja Bagh Baramulla on 29-03-2015 and at Salamabad Uri on 08-01-2015.
  • CD Leh: Civil Defence Leh organised three awareness camps in Leh at Boys Higher Secondary School Leh on 06-12-2014, at Army School building Tyakshi Turtuk on 17-01-2015 and at Govt. Higher Secondary School Turtuk on 10-01-2015. During these camps, a large number of students/civilians participated and were briefed about CD basic training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.
  • CD Budgam: Civil Defence Budgam organised four Civil Defence basic training camps in Budgam at CD Control Room Budgam w.e.f 12-01-2015 to 16-01-2015, w.e.f 09-02-2015 to 13-02-2015, w.e.f 19-02-2015 to 24-02-2015 and at DIET Budgam w.e.f 03-03-2015 to 07-03-2015. During these camps, about 128 people participated and were imparted CD basic training in fire-fighting, first aid and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF experts.
  • CD Bandipora: Civil Defence Bandipora conducted 05 days basic CD training camp at Space Age Model Institute w.e.f18-03-2015 to 24-03-2015 in which 85 students participated and were imparted basic training in first aid,
    fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD/SDRF instructors.Moreover, Civil Defence Bandipora organised 02 days CD awareness camp cum Mock drill exercise at Sumbal Sonawari Bandipora w.e.f 23-02-2015 to 24-02-2015. During the awareness camp about 200 people participated on the occasion. On 23-03-2015, Civil Defence Bandipora also organised one day CD awareness camp at Block Office Sumbal in which about 100 people participated and were briefed about role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster.
  • CD Ganderbal: Civil Defence Ganderbal conducted two awareness camps in Ganderbal at Darul Aloom Nunner Ganderbal w.e.f 24-02-2015 to 28-02-2015 and at Middle School Manigam Ganderbal on 16-03-2015. During these camps a large number of people participated and were briefed about CD training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the experts.
  • CD Kupwara: Civil Defence Kupwara organised two Disaster Management training camps at DPL Kupwara w.e.f 08-02-2015 to 12-02-2015 and w.e.f 14-02-2015 to 01-03-2015 in which 120 Homeguard volunteers participated and were imparted training in first aid, fire fighting and rescue operation by the CD /SDRF instructors.

    Moreover, Civil Defence Kupwara conducted five CD awareness camps in district Kupwara at DPL Kupware on 13-02-2015, Nillow Kupwara on 16-03-2015, District Police Line Kupwara on 11-03-2015, Udruo Kupwara on 17-03-2015, District Police Line on 18-03-2015. During these camps about 400 Police personnel/civilians participated and were made aware about role and importance of Civil Defence by the experts.
  • CD Kargil: Civil Defence Kargil conducted one day CD awareness camp at Kargil on 03-02-2015 in which about 300 people participated and were made aware about role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster.
  • CD Kulgam: Civil Defence Kulgam conducted three CD awareness camps at Nillow Kulgam on 16-03-2015, Udruo Kulgam on 17-03-2015, District Police Line Kulgam on 18-03-2015 in which about 200 people participated and were made aware about role and importance of Civil Defence during disaster.
