RAISING DAY OF HOMEGUARDS/CIVIL DEFENCE J&K CELEBRATED AT JAMMU

The Homeguards/Civil Defence celebrated its Raising Day at SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu on 06-12-2017. Hon’ble Governor J&K Sh.N.N.Vohra was the chief guest on the occasion. He took Rashtriya Salute and inspected the Parade presented by different Parade contingents viz Homeguards, Civil Defence, SDRF, NCC and students of various schools. While speaking on the occasion Hon’ble Governor J&K Sh.N.N.Vohra appreciated the role of Homeguards/Civil Defence/ SDRF during Disasters. He underlined the need for maintaining professionalism in force to meet any eventuality. The Chief guest commended the Homeguards/Civil Defence volunteers for their outstanding work during disaster in the state. He also referred to reorganization of their contribution on the occasions like fairs, festivals, pilgrimages and emergencies like flash floods and accidents etc. Lauding the force, chief guest stressed for making more skilled man-power available so that any contingency could be managed without any hindrance. He further said that more SDRF battalions in J&K needs to be raised to prepare and tackle every kind of emergency.

The Chief Guest also presented mementoes among the Director Homeguards Jammu, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu and teams of Homeguards/Civil Defence of Jammu Province for their dedicated work to the organization on the occasion.

Earlier, while welcoming the chief guest and other distinguished guests, DGP/Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh, IPS emphasized the need for adequate preparedness to deal with various disasters and other exigencies in the State. Highlighting the Role of Homeguards and Civil Defence volunteers in all situations, Sh.Dilbag Singh said that adequate preparedness is the hall mark for dealing with any eventuality. Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K said that Jammu and Kashmir falls in seismic zone 4 and 5 and having its 13 districts headquarters declared as Multi-hazardous districts by the Centre out 19 CD towns of J&K. Sh.Dilbag Singh said therefore the need of harmonizing between capacity building and frequency of disaster is immensely desired. He also recalled the significant role of Homeguards raised after Chinese aggression of 1962 and their contribution in creating awareness among the people about responses to serious situation. Further he referred to emerging trends of climatic change like melting of glacier, flash floods etc which posed serious challenges before the society. He further pointed out that the Govt. has converted two Aux. Police Bns as SDRF during the year 2012 which has totally changed its nomenclature with working of this force. He also said that Govt. of J&K is interested to raise disaster mitigation fund, infrastructure building and capacity building in state disaster mitigation.

Besides march past, a mock drill and demonstrations with regard to Civil Defence and Disaster Management was also conducted on this occasion.

At the end of occasions, Smt. Rashmi wazir, SSP Comdt. SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu presented vote of thanks on behalf of the organization and thanked the Chief guest and other distinguished guest.

The function was witnessed by a large number of people from all walks of life. Among other, the function was attended by Hon’ble speaker Kavinder Gupta, Hon’ble MLAs M Y Taragami, Krishan Lal Bhagat , DGP J&K Sh.S.P Vaid,IPS , Chief Vigilance Commissioner J&K Sh.P.L.Gupta,IPS Sh.V.K.Singh, Spl DGP J&K and other serving /Retd. Senior Police officers.


 

SDRF PERSONNEL RECOVERED DEAD BODIES DURING AVALANCHE AT SADHNA TOP KUPWARA

On 05-01-2018 at about 1900 hours, the SDRF team Kupwara comprsising of 10 personnel under the supervision of ASI Showkat Ahmad No.1016 rushed towards incident site at Sadhna Top where they recovered the dead bodies of 10 personnel when their vehicle was hit by an Avalanche at Sadhna top. Besides Two injured victims was also rescued.

As a part of special drive launched for Capacity Building by the SDRF personnel to deal with various kinds of Disaster situations and to help the public in need, special training programmes have been launched at various locations. Training in basic avalanche rescue has been tied up with Jahawar Institute of Mountaineering, Pahalgam where first batch of 50 SDRF personnel has undergone training at Aru, Pahalgam.

Shri Dilbag Singh, IPS Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K accompanied by Shri Javid Hassan Bhat, SSP Director Homeguard Kashmir, Shri Bashir Ahmed Sofi, Commandant SDRF-1st Bn Srinagar and Shri Suneel Raj SSP, SO to Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K took a review of the ongoing training and rescue preparedness programmes in South and North Kashmir w.e.f. 09-01-2018 to 11-01-2018. During visit of Commandant General to Kupwara and Baramulla, training programmes were reviewed alongwith district SSsP of Kupwara and Baramulla. The SDRF team who participated in rescue/casualty evacuation operation at Sadhna Pass was awarded with Rs.10000/- with commendation certificate to boost their morale. The SDRF personnel are exhibiting keen interest in training programmes aimed at their skill development/ enhancement in various disaster management activities. Two such courses have been recently conducted by High Altitude Warfare School of Army at Gulmarg wherein 50 SDRF personnel were trained in Mountain Rescue.

Homeguard personnel under training at South and North Kashmir regions put up a request for better remuneration and continued employment as per the recent directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. They were informed that their matter is under consideration with the competent authorities. The officers and other ranks of SDRF were complimented for good work and were urged to involve themselves in all trainings to enable them to perform their duties more effectively and professionally. They reported lack of availability of certain rescue equipments to which they were assured that all required equipments would be procured and provided to them in shortest possible time.


 

DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND IAF CONDUCT HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE AND DISASTER RELIEF (HADR) CONCLAVE

A conclave on synergising Civil-Military operations towards Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) was organized jointly by Air Force Station Jammu and J&K SDMA at Air Force Station Satwari, Jammu on 20-01-2018.

Commandant General (DGP), Civil Defence, HG and SDRF, Dilbagh Singh, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The conclave was attended by Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Jammu, Air Commodore SK Mishra, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Tariq Ahmed Ganai, Additional Commissioner Jammu Anuradha Wazir, Joint Director Fire & Emergency Services Jammu, RT Dubey, Director Disaster Management, Aamir Ali, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn, Shabir Ahmed Malik, Dy. CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Arvind Karwani, Senior Officers from Civil Administration, Army, Air Force, SDRF, Fire Services, Police and Air Port. A presentation on conduct of HADR missions during disasters and improving the efficacy of these operations, was done, in close coordination with Civil Authorities. Capability of deploying Helicopters and Remotely Piloted Aircrafts (RPA) during disasters were also discussed. A mock drill including, flying the simulated operations, by the helicopter and use of rescue equipment, from the helicopter, rescue hoist, winching, using rescue cradle and bambhi-bucket were conducted. SDRF and F&ES also showcased their ability to enter tall buildings, from the top, using rescue vehicles like Bronto-Skylift, ladders and rescue methods. Display of fire-fighting ability of SDRF and J&K Fire & Emergency Services and display of modern rescue equipment was also showcased, with an aim to conduct improved and coherent operations in future.


 

SDRF J&K CELEBERATED ITS ANNUAL RAISING DAY

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) celebrated its 6th Annual Raising Day at its Provincial Headquarters on 19-01-2018.

The NDRF team deployed with SDRF at Srinagar also joined the function and celebrated Annual Raising Day of SDRF which falls on 19th January.

A March Past was also held by the contingents of SDRF and NDRF. Sh.B.A. Sofi, Commandant SDRF 1st Bn. Srinagar took salute on March Past. In his address, the Commandant SDRF 1st Bn. Srinagar highlighted work done by SDRF during the year 2017 which included recent Rescue/ Search Operation at Sadhna Top. Besides, the peaceful conduct of Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra-2017, rescue activities and awareness programmes. Moreover, SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu also celebrated its annual raising day at SDRF HQ Jammu in which Sh.Shabir Ahmed Malik, SSP I/C Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn. took salute on March past.


 

SHRI MUNIR AHMAD KHAN IPS ASSUMES THE CHARGE OF THE OFFICE OF ADDL. DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE HG CD & SDRF J&K

Shri Munir Ahmad Khan IPS assumed the charge of the office of Addl. Director General of Police HG CD & SDRF J&K on 17-02-2017 and inspected all Sections of Directorate of HG/CD & SDRF J&K, besides the office of DIG HG/CD & SDRF Jammu, office of Director HG Jammu and held a meeting with all the Officers of the organisation .The Officers briefed the ADGP HG/CD & SDRF J&K regarding the functioning of their respective offices. The ADGP was also apprised with the pending proposals and requirements on which the ADGP HG/CD & SDRF J&K assured them for their early disposal and redressal. During the meeting, power point presentations regarding the functioning of HG/CD & SDRF organisation were also given. At the conclusion of the meeting the ADGP HG/CD assured that all genuine issues of subordinate formations will be addressed on top priority. On 20th February 2018 Shri Munir Ahmad Khan IPS Addl. Director General of Police J&K Jammu visited SDRF 2nd Bn, Jammu and inspected the Modern Rescue Equipments of SDRF 2nd Bn, Jammu. After inspection the worthy ADGP convened meeting with the officers and on-spot directions were given to maintain the Rescue Equipments properly and keep the SDRF personnel in regular practice to handle the Rescue Equipments efficiently at the time of any eventuality.


 

SDRF TEAM LAUNCHED RESCUE OPERATION AT RAMBAN

SDRF Ramban conducted rescue operation at Ramban near karol Bridge on 14-01-2018

on 14-01-2018 a truck bearing registration RJ19GD /4321 who was on way from jammu to Srinagar met with an accident near karol bridge Ramban and Rolled down into river Chenab, Rescue team of SDRF Ramban rushed to the spot and started rescue operation on the spot. One of the occupants of the truck namely sadha Ram R/o Rajasthan who sustained injuries was evacuated from the spot and shifted to district hospital Ramban where as the dead bodies of two persons were recovered and shifted to district hospital.


 

CD Srinagar imparted “ 05-days” Civil Defence basic training:- 05-days Civil Defence basic training were imparted to ‘122’ Students of “Scholars School Natipora Srinagar” w.e.f. 12-12-2017 to 16-12-2017. They were demonstrated about the tactics of civil defence during emergencies.

CD Srinagar organised Awareness camps:- Awareness camps held at Hazratbal Shrine Srinagar w.e.f. 01-12-2017 to 18-12-2017 in which more than one lac devotees participated. The devotees were provided medicines. The rescue equipments along-with ambulance were kept available at the venue to meet any eventuality. During the camp Kashmiri Kehwa and other facilities were also provided to the devotees.

CD Srinagar organised Awareness camps at Hazratbal Shrine Srinagar w.e.f 01-12-2017 to 18-12-2017

CD Srinagar organised Awareness Camp:- On 16-12-2017 more than 80 youths of Natipora Srinagar participated in one day long CD awareness camp . During the camp the participants witnessed the tactics of disaster management demonstrated by instructors of CD Srinagar.

Awareness programme:- 60 students of Govt. Middle School Hassanpora BIjbihara participated in CD awareness camp conducted on 02-12-2017. During the camp instructors of civil defence Anantnag demonstrated the methods of first aid / rescue / pre- hospital treatment of various clinical and medical emergencies. Transportation and stabilizing the spinal injured patient were also discussed with the trainees.

Awareness programme:- (100) students of Govt. High school Reshipora Ullar Pulwama witnessed the awareness cum demonstration conducted by CD Pulwama 09-12-2017. The introductory speech regarding disaster management its concept and need for organizing such programmes, concept of Civil Defence, its importance, aims & functions of Civil Defence and also its organizational structure in district Pulwama for providing various services and enrolment of CD volunteers was delivered to the participants.

Awareness camp:- An awareness camp was organised on 19-12-2017 at “Super fifty coaching centre Govt. High School Beerwah Budgam”. The camp was attended by 210 participants.

 

Training cum Mock exercise:- At Town hall Bijbihara Anantnag mock drill and training camp for the employees of the Tehsil office Bijbihara was conducted on 14-12-2017. During the camp a live demonstration of fire fighting and other emergencies was shared with the participants. Stabilizing and chocking methods were also discussed during the training camp.

05-days Training camp:- From 29-11-2017 to 19-12-2017, 71 youths of district Anantnag were imparted training in civil defence and disaster management. The Dy. Commissioner Anantnag was the chief guest on the occasion. The lecture was delivered to the trainees by experts of various departments . During the camp tactics of first aid / cocking and methods of disaster mitigation were discussed during the training camp. Civil Defence instructors demonstrated the tactics of splinting and first aid to the volunteers. Participation certificates were also distributed among the trainees on the culmination of civil defence training camp.

Awareness programme:- On 30-12-2017, Civil Defence Baramulla organized an awareness programme at “Wi Tech. Institute of Techonology” Wagoora Baramulla. A large number of Students and Staff members participated in the programme. The introductory speech regarding disaster management its concept and need for organizing such programmes, concept of Civil Defence, its importance, aims & functions of Civil Defence and also its organizational structure in district Baramulla for providing various services and enrollment of CD volunteers was delivered to the participants.

Besides this, Civil Defence Instructors Baramulla gave a lecture on first aid its importance in pre-hospitalization scenario of injured persons and various methods to tackle various types of injuries, sub-conscious persons and how to handle such types of injured persons. The speech on methods of extinguishing fire in a particular building and other rescue operations during natural and manmade disaster was delivered to the participant.

05 days Training camp:- 05 days civil defence basic training was organized w.e.f. 22-12-2017 to 28-12-2017 at Govt. High school Hanga Kupwara in which about 127 students of the institute were trained.

Awareness camp:- On 27-01-2018 CD Pulwama organised awareness programme at DPL Awantipora, in which large No. of Volunteers of HGs Pulwama participated. Lectures were delivered by the trainers of SDRF regarding different types of Disasters like flood and earth quake, methods of rescue and CPR exercise were also conducted.

Awareness camp:- On 29-01-2018, civil defence Anantnag in collaboration with Umeed charitable trust Anantnag. During the camp the participants witnessed the tactics of disaster management demonstrated by instructors of CD Anantnag. During demonstration Civil Defence instructor demonstrated the fire fighting and other lifting measures to be taken during lifting of patients who fall from the buildings and collapsed structure search and rescue measures were also discussed and demonstrated.

Awareness camp:- On 06-01-2018 an awareness programme was organized at Govt. Girls Higher secondary school Baramulla (Winter Coaching centre) by. Civil Defence Baramulla. During the camp 60 personnel participated in the awareness camp. During the camp the participants were imparted disaster mitigation tactics. CD instructors of civil defence Baramulla also organized a mock drill exercise in the premises of the institute.

Awareness camp:- On 15-01-2018 awareness camp conducted by CD Kargil at Faroona Sankoo Kargil in which 130 local villagers participated during the camp. All the participants were imparted basic civil defence training. Disaster tactics and other measures were also discussed and delivered to the participants. The introductory speech regarding disaster management its concept and need for organizing such programmes, concept of Civil Defence, its importance, aims & functions of Civil Defence and also its organizational structure for providing various services and enrolment of CD volunteers was delivered to the participants.

Awareness camp:- On 10-1-2018 one day awareness camp was conducted at Global Institute of Technology Coaching Centre Beerwah Budgam in which 118 students of the institute participated. During the camp lecture on Do’s and Don’ts, and its Precautionary measures were discussed during the training camp.

 

Rescue operation:- On 12-01-2018 information re ceived by police control room Leh and accordingly SDRF team with rescue equipments conducted a search and rescue operation and after taking hard efforts one unidentified dead body at Zanskar (Chadder) trek in the vicinity of river Zanskar was fished out from the river.

Awareness camp :- Civil defence unit Leh organized one day disaster preparedness awareness programme on 18-01-2018 at “Legend Coaching Centre leh” in which about 90 students participated. The SDRF experts delivered lecture on Fire emergency and first aid methods. Besides use of fire extinguishers was also discussed during the camp.

Awareness camp:- On 26-02-2018 one day awareness camp organised by CD unit Pulwama in collaboration with state disaster management authority Distt. Pulwama at town hall Pulwama. On the occasion the ADC Pulwama was chief guest and large number of volunteers, NGOS of the district participated. The participants have been trained by the trainers of SDRF in providing first aid and different methods of rescue during disasters.

 

Awareness camp:- One day CD awareness program was held at Govt. Higher secondary Larnoo Kokernag Anantnag on 5-02-2018 in collaboration with Umeed charitable society, BMO Larnoo was the chief guest on the occasion. SHO P/s Larnoo and different officers of different departments were also present. Near about 100 volunteers also participated from said area.

Awareness camp:- One day CD awareness program was held at Govt. Higher Secondary School Serigufwara Anantnag on 21-02-2018 in collaboration with DDMA Anantnag . Near about 200 volunteers of Asha workers, chowkidars, Namardaars etc. of said area participated on the said event. Tehsildar Serigufwara, Tehsildar Hqr Anantnag and other officers from different departments were also present. The trainers of SDRF briefed the participants about basic disaster management, fire-fighting, safe use of LPG, first aid, rope rescue. The program was highly appreciated by Tehsildar Serigufwara and other officers.
Rescue operation:- On 14-02-2018 information received by Addl. SP Leh SDRF team with rescue equipment conducted a search and rescue operation at Indus river Leh. One unidentified dead body at Indus River were found and handed over to concerned police station for further necessary action.

One day workshop:- One day workshop training-cum-Mock drill for disaster preparedness and general awareness on 20-02-2018 about different Calamities / exigencies in DIET Beerwah Budgam was organised by the CD/SDRF Budgam . Inaugural made by the Adl. D.C. Sh Farooq Ahmad (KAS) Officer who was the chief guest on the occasion. SDM, Tehsildar Beerwah and Govt. Employees of different departments /Dy. Chief /Divisional/Dy. Divisional/Post/Dy. Post/Sector Wardens /CD volunteers concerned and other respected Citizens of adjoining areas participated in the event . “Role of Civil Defence /SDRF has been highlighted by the Dy. Controller CD Budgam. Lecture /practical on earthquake/Flood/Fire Fighting/ First Aid ”has been delivered by the Tehsildar concerned/ CD Instructors/ Asst. Command Fire & Emergency Budgam and one of the Medicle officer SDH Beerwah.

One day workshop:- On 28-02-2018 one day workshop on ‘Role of Civil Defence & targets for -2018” was organised by the higher authority CD Kashmir Zone in Sheikh-ul- Alam Conference Center D.C. Office Budgam, in which more than 300 CD wardens /civilians participated. Sh. Sheikh Javid Hassan Bhat( KPS ) was the chief guest and has made Inaugural of the programme . The Dy. Controller Civil Defence of Kashmir Province/ Chief Warden / Dy.Chief Warden/ Divisional Warden / Dy. Divl. Warden / Post Warden / Dy. Post Warden of Kashmir province concerned /Sector Wardens and Civil Defence Volunteers of District Budgam and staff members of CD Budgam participated in the event. Lecture on first aid were delivered by Sh. Dr. Mehdi. A special task was by the Director CD Kashmir Zone stressed upon the importance of friends / family members especially CD volunteers in helping the victim .

Awareness camp:- One day CD Awareness camp was organized by CD Pulwama on 22-03-2018 at “Govt Higher Secondary school Koil Pulwama” in which large number of Students and staff participated. Lectures were delivered by the trainers of SDRF regarding different types of Disasters like earth quake ,floods etc.

Rescue Operation:- On 31-03-2018 CD/SDRF Component Anantnag conducted one day Fire Fighting operation at forest area at “Chittergull Shangus Anantnag” in collaboration with employes of forest department under the command and control of DFO Anantnag.

Awareness camp:- One day awareness camp on 24-03-2018 was organised by CD organization Budgam on “First Aid / Road Accidents” in Govt High School Boys/Girls Garand Khurd Budgam.

The SDRF component and CD volunteers conducted a mock exercise drill with regard to road accidents/ earthquake. Head Master/ Staff members/ students and other respected citizens of adjoining areas were participated in the programme. The speakers delivered lecture on the said topic while SDRF experts exhibited the demonstration on how to save a person’s life during accident.

Rescue Operation:- On 26-02-2018 CD/SDRF Kargil conducted a search and rescue operation at Tambis Kanoor Kargil and after taking hard efforts recovered dead body of Mohd Ali Aba R/O Tambis from river Suru.

Awareness camp:- On the directions of district administration Baramulla ,civil defence/SDRF Baramulla conducted an awareness camp/mock drill exercise on 08-03-2018 at Palhallan Pattan Baramulla on the subject innovative projects involving community based disaster preparedness.

A large number of locals and respectables of the area and Revenue officers/ officials participated in the event. The SDRF Component HG/CD Volunteers conducted a mock exercise drill with regard to extinguishing fire in a particular building and other rescue operations during disasters.

 

Awareness camp:- One day awareness programme was organised by CD/SDRF Kupwara on 31-03-2018 at Govt Higher Secondary School Salkoot Kupwara. 200 students were got trained in CD Programme. Lectures were given on drug deduction by Chief warden Dr.Mushtaq Ahmad and Dy. Chief warden Dr.Mohd. Ashraf, Kupwara. SDRF personals also give necessary lecture and demonstration.

Awareness camp:- One day awareness programme on “ First Aid , CPR and how to mitigate further loss of life and property during disasters was organised on 31-03-2018 ” in Mini-Sectrate Uri.

Awareness camp:- One day awareness drive under the banner “Role of youth in Disaster Preparedness and management during catastrophic situation” was organised by CD/SDRF Leh on 23-03-2018 at Siddhartha High School Stok Leh. During the programme Dy. Controller Leh briefed types of Disasters regarding , its mitigation , prevention and to act swiftly during disaster event. On the occasion 200 students of class 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th including staff members participated. Principal Siddhartha High School Stok has thanked the SDRF Leh for conducting such awareness , which will go a long way in acquiring knowledge for their safety purpose.

Rescue Operation:- On 21-03-2018 SDRF Kargil conducted a search and rescue operation (Fire Incident) at Old Bazar Kargil.Awareness Camp:- Two days training programme on Disaster Management with live demonstration was organised in Amar Singh College Srinagar on 23-03-2018 and 24-03-2018 in which more than 200 faculty members and students of the college participated.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness Camp was organized on 09-04-2018 by Civil Defence Anantnag at “Degree College Larnoo” near about 200 Students and staff members participated. Dy. Controller CD Anantnag M. Farooq Reshi highlighted the role of CD and disaster management before, during and after any man-made or natural calamity.The lecture was delivered by SDRF/CD instructors on First aid, Earthquack, land sliding, fire fighting. The programme was highly appreciated by Principal and staff.

Road Clearness:- On 20-04-2018 DDC Anantnag/ ACR Anantnag and Dy. Controller CD Anantnag along with SDRF Anantnag proceed “Mattan Nambal Anantnag” for road clearing where some trees fell down on the road due to Stormy winds.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness camp related Landslides and Snow Avalanche was organised by CD-Budgam on 05-04-2018 in village “Iskenderpora Budgam”atGovt Boys High School which was presided over by the Headmaster concerned and teaching staff/ students and other respected citizens of adjoining area participated. Mock drill exercise were conducted and SDRF instructors also delivered lectures on disaster management.

Training Course:- Civil Defence unit Budgam conducted 05 days basic civil defence training course w.e.f. 16-04-2018 to 21-04-2018 in villag ‘Paller Budgam’ at Govt Boys High School premises which was presided over by the Headmaster concerned, teaching staff/ students and other respected citizens of adjoining area participated. Mock drill exercise were conducted and SDRF instructors also delivered lectures on disaster management.

One day awareness Camp:- On 23-04-2018 CD and SDRF unit Baramulla conducted one day Civil Defence Awareness programme at “Govt Higher Secondary School KhajawaBagh”under the supervision of Deputy Controller CD Baramulla on the subject School Safety measures and disaster preparedness.

A large number of students and staff members of the school were present on the occasion. Civil defence warden Sh. Abdul Majid have delivered lecture on the subject which have highly appreciated by the principal / Staff of the concerned school.

One day awareness Camp:- One day CD awareness camp was organised by Civil Defence and SDRF Baramulla on 28-04-2018 at “Govt High School Ushkara Baramulla”. SDRF Instructors delivered a lecture on the First Aid, CPR, Chocking etc.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness Camp was organised in the premises of “Govt High School Dever Lolab Kupwara” on 29-04-2018. On the occasion 150 students were got trained in Civil Defence and Disaster management. Lectures were given on Drug deduction by Chief Warden Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad of District Kupwara.

Five days first aid/ assistance camp:- Five days first aid/ assistance camp for CD staff, wardens and volunteers w.e.f. 13-04-2018 was organised for the assistance of devotees at Hazratbal Shrine by RCDCC Srinagar on the eve of Mehraj-ul- Alam (SAW) as per past practice.

29th Road safety week :- CD Srinagar conducted 29th road safety week w.e.f. 23-04-2018 to 29-04-2018 with in collaboration with Traffic Police/RTO Kashmir. On the occasion all CD staff, 20 CD wardens and volunteers participated under the Command of Dy. Controller CD Srinagar.

Plantation Drive:- A day long plantation drive was organised on 27-04-2018 in the premises of RCDC Srinagar in which CD Staff, CD Wardens and CD Volunteers participated.

One day awareness Camp:- One day CD awareness drive under the banner “Fire precaution measures and Earthquake Safety precautions” was organized at village “Tyakshi Nubra Leh” on 14-04-2018 by SDRF/Civil Defence Leh. Around 60 villagers enthusiastically participated in the awareness programme. Besides delivering lecture on various deterrent measures of life saving,SDRF experts also exhibited demonstration on different aspect of rescue and relief operations during the crises.

Rescue Operation:- On 19-04-2018 at 1100 hours Civil Defence and SDRF Leh received an information from a CD Volunteer that a fire has broke out at a private garden at “Chuchot Gongma Leh” near about 22 Kms far from SDRF Component Leh. SDRF Leh along with Fire brigade unit Leh controlled the blazing fire after combating for hours together and saved the property from further damaging.

Search and Rescue operation:- On 29-04-2018 CD/SDRF Kargil started search and rescue operation at Ando- Kargil. A dead body has been recovered from river Suru.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness Camp was organized on 18-04-2018 by Civil Defence Awantipora Pulwama at “Govt. High Sec. School Panzgam Awantipoa” in which large number of Students and staff participated. The lecture was delivered on First aid, Earthquack, land sliding, fire fighting. The programme was highly appreciated by Principal and staff.

Training Course:- The training was organized by CD Awantipora Pulwama w.e.f. 21-04-2018 to 26-04-2018 at “Govt Higher Secondary school Panzgam Pulwama” in which “70 Students and staff” were trained in various skills like first aid, fire fighting, CPR to be used during disasters.

 

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness Camp and mock exercise was organized on 05-05-2018 by Civil Defence & SDRF Anantnag at “New Higher Institute of Information Technology Quazigund”. Students were made aware about the basic disaster management/ precautions taken before, during and after an earth quake. Besides CD certificates and pocket money allowances were also distributed among the volunteers who have undergone basic 05 days CD disaster management training course w.e.f. 25-11-2017 to 30-11-2017.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness Camp and mock exercise was organized on 12-05-2018 by Civil Defence & SDRF Anantnag at “Wazir Bagh Anantnag” near about 200 security personals and Bank staff participated. Necessary trainings regarding disaster management, first aid, fire fighting was given to the private security person of the whole establishment of J&K Bank of District Anantnag.


 
Training Programme :- CD/SDRF Anantnag conducted 05 days basic CD training programme w.e.f. 23-05-2018 to 29 -05-2018at “Florence Para Medical Institute” K.P. road Anantnag. In the said programme 45 students were awared about basic disaster management, first aid, rope rescue techniques, fire fighting and safe use of LPG. At the end of the programme fire fighting demonstration were also witnessed by the trainees and the whole staff.

Training Programme :- CD/SDRF Awantipora Pulwama conducted 05 days basic CD training programme w.e.f. 12-05-2018 to 18 -05-2018at “Islamia Model Public High School DadsuraTral”.

 

In which 60 students and staff members were trained in various skills to be used during disasters like fire fighting, CPR, and first aid. The programme was highly appreciated by the Principal of the School and Staff members.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness camp organised on 24-05-2018 by CD Awantipora Pulwama at “Igloo Public High School NowporaTral. ” On the occasion large number of students and staff participated. The lecture was delivered on first aid , land sliding and fire fighting.

Training Programme :- Five days disaster preparedness and basic civil defence training course w.e.f. 16-04-2018 was organised by CD Budgam at “Govt High School Paller” of district Budgam in which 57 CD volunteers participated.

Training Programme :- Five days disaster preparedness and basic civil defence training course w.e.f. 10-05-2018 to 15-05-2018 was organised by CD Budgam for general public, students, staff members in village Khominy Chowk Bemina at “Shai-Hamdan Educational Institute High School” of district Budgam. Civil Defence instructors delivered lectures and mock drill exercises were conducted.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness camp was organised by CD and SDRF Budgam on 31-05-2018 at Govt Higher Sec School Sholipora Budgam. Headmaster concerned, staff members, school students and other respected citizens of adjoining areas participated. Civil Defence instructors delivered lectures and mock drill exercises were conducted.

The Dy. Controller civil defence Budgam sheared his experiences and emphasised on the aspect of a collective effort by the entire system in helping the nears and dears at the time of any disaster. He appealed the general public to join Civil Defence in the interest of society.

One day awareness Camp:- One day awareness camp was organised by CD organisation Budgam on 22-05-2018 on road safety, mock drill related disaster management preparedness in ‘Govt High School Wateruline’ of District Budgam.

Headmaster, staff members and school students concerned participated. Mock drill exercises were conducted and role of SDRF has also been highlighted.
