All about The Amarnath Yatra 2023 – Important Dates & Guidelines

The Amarnath Yatra 2023 will begin on July 1st, 2023. It’s an important Pilgrimage for Hindus, and the government has already started its registration. Devotees can start the registration process using both online and offline channels.

As always, the starting point of Amarnath Yatra 2023 will be the Pahalgam track in the Anantnag district. Devotees may also opt for the Baltan starting point. The registration for Amarnath Yatra 2023 has already started, and the government suggests everyone opt for any online or offline registration process.

The central Government of India has set up more than 500 branches throughout the whole nation for the Offline registration process. There are 90 branches of the State Bank of India, 316 branches of Punjab National Bank, and 90 branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank.

Nowadays, the central government issues RFID cards from Designated locations in Jammu or Srinagar before starting the Yatra. These ID cards are going to carry important details about the devotee.

Last year, More than 365000 devotees visited the holy shrine. As compared to the 2023 Yatra, the 2022 Yatra was shorter. The government ended it on 11th August 2022.

This year, the total number of days in the Yatra is going to be 62. The government is also expecting to cross 400,000 figures this year. 

New Facilities be Set Up in Jammu and Kashmir for Yatra

To keep the valley clean, the government has decided to set up more than 2500 portable toilets in Jammu and Kashmir for the devotees in the Amarnath Yatra.

Most of these portable toilets are going to be set up on both routes reaching the shrine cave. A 62 days long Yatra is going to start on the first of July, which could see more pilgrims than in 2022.

The administration will start setting up these toilets from Lakhanpur in Kathua district all the way to the shrine. 

Other than these 2500 portable toilets, the officials will also make sure there are more than 1300 personnel, including sanitation workers and supervisors.

The Lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir mentioned in the press release that the hassle-free pilgrimage is the top priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah.

The central government Is involved in every step of the Yatra, and everything will be as planned. All departments, including water, power, and security, are working together to Conduct a smooth Yatra.

The government has already launched a mobile application named Amarnath Yatra for all the real-time information. The application will provide information about the current weather and situation.

How to Register for Amarnath Yatra?

There are 2 ways to register for Amarnath Yatra. Pilgrims can opt for online or offline methods according to their convenience.

People interested in the online registration process can follow the below-given step-by-step guide. We are going to use the official website of the Shri AmarnathJi shrine board.

  • First of all, click on the above-given button, which will directly take you to the Official website of the Shri Amarnath shrine board.
  • Now, click on the online services tab and go to register.
  • The online registration will ask you about every detail of the devotee. You will have to enter all the details, including the Yatra route, the date of the Yatra, and the complete detail of the Yatri.
  • The government suggests everyone provide a medical certificate before registration. You will have to enter all of your medical details, including a copy of your photograph and medical certificate, during the registration.
  • Once you have filled in all the relevant information, you will receive a one-time password on your mobile phone.
  • Now, you will have to pay the fees and download your Yatra permit.

Kindly make sure you are not entering any wrong information, as the officials might reject your entry into the Yatra. Kindly carry your Adhar card along with other necessary documents.

You will have to present your aadhaar card, medical certificate, and other documents at the time of registration. The government will issue a special ID at the time of the Yatra.

Everyone will have to pay a registration fee for Amarnath Yatra 2023. The offline registration fee through banks is ₹120, while the online registration fee is going to be ₹220. NRI pilgrims will have to pay registration fees of ₹1520 per Pilgrim.

What is the minimum age to go to Amarnath Yatra?

Every devotee going for Amarnath Yatra should be in the age group of 13 years to 70 years. No one below and above that age group will be allowed to travel to Amarnath Yatra 2023.

When will Amarnath Yatra 2023 begin?
