The national investigation agency of India (NIA) raided multiple locations in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The official said that the Raids are part of an investigation into a terror conspiracy in the valley.

The NIA also attached the properties belonging to 3 accused persons at various places in Kashmir under the lawful activity prevention act. Terror funding is a serious concern for Indian security agencies, and they are actively trying to bust the network.

The Government of India wants to succeed in their upcoming G20 summit in the valley, and these rates of national investigation agencies are part of their success.

The officials mentioned In the press release that these people are associated with a group called Jamaat-e-Islami. They further mentioned in the press release that these types of people impose major risks to national security and peace in the valley.

Misuse of Funds in Jammu and Kashmir

The officials of the national investigation agency (NIA) further mentioned in their press release that these people collected money in the name of different charitable purposes, including health and education.

Instead of using money on those activities to mark, these people use the collected funds on unlawful activities. The national investigation agency found that these people collected money both within and outside of the country.

In its investigation, the national investigation agency found that these people were motivating Kashmiri youth to opt for violence. Their motive was to recruit new members in their group and use them for terror activities.

The investigation agency has carried out rates at the residence of Mufti Abdul Rahim. He is the brother of late professor Syed Abdul Rehman Gilani, who was arrested in connection with the parliamentary attack.

This is not the first time a national investigation agency reached the valley and conducted its searches. The national investigation agency has also seized the property of those accused in the 2019 terror attack.

What is the Motive of NIA Raids in the Valley?

The Jammu and Kashmir, especially Kashmir valley, has become one of the hottest topics as soon as the Indian government announced their g20 summit plans in Kashmir.

The government and security forces of India have various security concerns in the valley. Compared to other parts of India, Kashmir is not safe. The Government of India has vowed to improve the conditions in the valley, and the g20 summit could be one of Those opportunities.

The government wants to ensure the safety of the delegation in Kashmir during the meeting, and these raids are part of cracking down on the terror network in the valley.

The Election Commission of India might announce assembly elections in Kashmir. All political parties, including regional and national parties in the valley, have been demanding assembly elections for the last two and a half years.

It could be the year of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, and the government does not want to take any risks. Elections are a sensitive matter in the valley, as terrorists do not want the government to hold them.

Once the NIA has cracked the terror funding links in the valley, the government might have a chance to hold safe elections. 

Other than that, the Government of India has also announced the schedule of Amarnath Yatra in the valley. The yatra is going to start on the 1st of July 2023, and they do not want to take any risk when it comes to the security of pilgrims.

With the help of these raids, the government might crack the terror funding and pause new recruitment in terror groups.

The Upcoming G20 Summit in Kashmir.

The foreign minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto, made a statement after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Goa that Pakistan objected to the meeting in the valley.

Pakistan is not going to have bilateral relations with India unless India reviews its action to abolish Article 370, which gives special rights to Jammu and Kashmir.

On the 5th of August 2019, the central Government of India decided to take action and abolish Article 370. Pakistan and several other nations are not happy with that decision as they believe that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory.

Pakistan and India both claim Jammu and Kashmir as their part. By holding the G20 summit in the valley and abolishing Article 370, India is Improving its claim on the valley.

Bilawal Bhutto raised its concerns about the upcoming meeting in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, the foreign minister of India thrashed every claim and objection of Pakistan over the G20 summit.

Jaishankar said that Pakistan does not have anything to do with the G20 summit or Jammu and Kashmir. Instead, Pakistan should be talking about when they will vacate the illegally occupied territories of Jammu and Kashmir.

Why did the national investigation agency raid, Kashmir?

The national investigation agency of India raided Kashmir due to upcoming events in the valley. The government does not want to take any risk during the G20 summit in Kashmir and the upcoming Amarnath yatra.
