4500 Kashmiri Pandits to Join the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela in Kashmir

The Kheer Bhawani Mela is celebrated on Zeisht Ashtami on May 28 at different shrines in the Kashmir Valley.

Kashmiri Pandits were seen dancing while preparing for the annual event in Jammu

125 buses carrying 4500 Kashmiri Pandits are in the valley and escorted by the Military. 

Kheer Bhawani is a Hindu temple situated at a distance of 25 kilometres north-east of Srinagar.

The Temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kheer Bhavani (Milk Goddress) constructed over a sacred spring.

60,000 to 70,000 Devotees from various parts of India are expected to visit these 5 temples.

All the devotees were provided with packed refreshments and government has made elaborate arrangements for safe

After a wait of five years, Devotees are finally able to participate in the Mela.
